Here's the scenario: You show up at a crowded bar, heavily male populated, and all eyes are on you - in a good way. True story. I don't know what it is, but hats can be very alluring. I think it's the combination of confidence, quirk, and sexy menswear. And the best part? You can pull one off on a bad hair day. That is why a holiday topper is in my holiday wardrobe. I usually grab my sequin beret or slouchy beanie, but I'm on the hunt for a chic black topper, like the one Penelope wore with her white Chanel suit. Top that.

Victoria Beckham and the Boys Go Along For David's Big Night

Victoria Beckham wore a dress of her own design to accompany her husband David to the annual Sports Spectacular benefit at LA's Hyatt Regency Century Plaza. The gala raises funds for the Cedars-Sinai Medical Genetics Institute, which researches genetic birth defects. The couple brought their three sons, Brooklyn, Romeo, and Cruz, along for the event, while baby Harper stayed at home. It was the latest fun outing for the Beckham boys, since earlier in the afternoon, David, Cruz, Romeo, and Brooklyn checked in at the Staples Center to watch the Los Angeles Kings take on the Phoenix Coyotes.

David was honored at the evening event for his work. On the press line, David spoke about his future with soccer. He said, "People always ask me what I want to do when I've finished playing, and they say, 'Do I want to go into management?' To be honest I've never wanted to go into management. I love coaching kids, I love working with kids. They're amazing people. They're amazingly truthful, young people, and that's what I love doing."

The entire Beckham clan is together on the West Coast after a busy period of travel for both David and Victoria. He stopped in Washington DC for an event with the president and first lady to honor the MLS-winning LA Galaxy team. David was then off to Athens and proudly helped transport the Olympic flame to London ahead of the Summer Olympics. Victoria returned for a long tour of Asia on behalf of her namesake collection. Things keep growing for Posh's business - Victoria Beckham will open her first store, possibly in Hong Kong, but more likely in London.

When he was 22, living in New York City, and right out of college, Barack Obama dated Genevieve Cook. The relationship was significant to warrant mention in his memoir Dreams of My Father, but now we can read Genevieve's perspective in Vanity Fair. The magazine's piece, focusing on the now president's first serious relationship, is an adaptation of a new Obama biography by David Maraniss and includes love letters from Barack sent to another girlfriend, Alex McNear, and portions of Genevieve's very detailed diary. The realities of an everyday relationship are discussed, including fights, chores, and sex life.

Genevieve's diary provides details about what it was like to be in a relationship with Barack at the time. On Sundays, he would drink coffee, lounge around, and do the New York Times crossword. She described the scene in her diary:

I open the door, that Barack keeps closed, to his room, and enter into a warm, private space pervaded by a mixture of smells that so strongly speak of his presence, his liveliness, his habits - running sweat, Brut spray deodorant, smoking, eating raisins, sleeping, breathing.

In another entry, she describes her doubts:

The sexual warmth is definitely there - but the rest of it has sharp edges and I’m finding it all unsettling and finding myself wanting to withdraw from it all. I have to admit that I am feeling anger at him for some reason, multi-stranded reasons. His warmth can be deceptive. Tho he speaks sweet words and can be open and trusting, there is also that coolness - and I begin to have an inkling of some things about him that could get to me.

For his part, here's how Barack described the relationship in his autobiography, "You know how you can fall into your own private world? Just two people, hidden and warm. Your own language. Your own customs. That’s how it was." Can you relate to the young love?

Victoria Beckham got all done up for the new cover of Harper's Bazaar's Spanish edition. It's the latest revealing, dramatic photo shoot for Victoria, who also struck memorable, swimsuit-clad poses for recent issues of Madame Figaro, British Vogue, and Harper's Bazaar UK. At the moment, Victoria is at home in LA with her young family. Earlier this week, she tweeted about decorating cupcakes for Easter with daughter Harper and son Romeo. She also shared her passion for pal Ken Paves's new The Power of Now conditioner. Her husband, David, has been busy with the Galaxy but had a few free evenings recently to take in sports with his kids. He checked out a Kings ice hockey game with the boys and on Wednesday night watched a dramatic Lakers vs. Clippers basketball game with their oldest child, Brooklyn.

There's a reason why certain previews are called "teasers," and that reason is that the quick montage usually makes you want to see more. The first glimpse of Cosmopolis definitely fits the bill. The David Cronenberg movie stars Robert Pattinson as a spoiled young millionaire who has an incredibly eventful day making his way across Manhattan in a limo. Since I haven't read the Don DeLillo novel, I had no idea just how eventful that day would actually be - until now.

If Pattinson is trying to make audiences forget all about Edward Cullen, he seems to have picked the right project. In just 30 seconds we see a bit of a couple of sex scenes (which means shirtless Pattinson - no complaints here), plus Pattinson stabs someone and literally shoots himself in the hand. It's a lot to wrap your head around, so tell us what you think when you watch the trailer after the break

David Beckham carried his young daughter Harper Beckham on his shoulders last week as they left an LA bowling alley. The family got together to celebrate Cruz's seventh birthday, which was on Feb. 20. His milestone came during a busy week for his parents. Victoria, who'd only freshly returned from a business trip to the UK, stepped out for three events, including the launch of the Eva Longoria Foundation, a reception for British Academy Award nominees, and the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty. David joined her only at the last of the three, and they made a hot couple on the carpet, him in a tux and her in a dress from her own Victoria Beckham collection. At the bash, David and Victoria mingled with many of their famous friends, including Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, and newcomer Lily Collins.

Thousands of cookbooks were published in the last year, but which ones are really worth buying? The International Association of Culinary Professionals, or IACP, tackled the question as it announced its cookbook award finalists for 2012 today.

Among them: plenty of cookbooks from top restaurant chefs, like Jean-Georges Vongerichten, John Besh, and Andrew Carmellini, as well as new books from reputed publications such as Fine Cooking and Cook's Illustrated.
