Did you know the emu is Australia's national bird? I bet PetSugar does. Emu Australia is an Australian-based sheepskin footwear brand inspired by the bird's exceptional resourcefulness - it lives on little food and water in the desert. Founded in '94, the company provides stylish sheepskin boots, slippers, flip-flops, and sandals. But it doesn't stop there. It also has a line of apparel made of merino wool and sheepskin. Jackets, ponchos, beanies, gloves, and scarves are soft and everyday-wearable. I'm jonesing for this desert-chic look, crochet sweater, fuzzy boots, et al.

Designer Spotlight: Caroline Hedeya

This is a story about two girls, Caroline and Donna, who were destined to become stylish bosom buddies. Before they met at F.I.T., the two led parallel lives hoping to become fashion designers one day. Shortly after graduating, Caroline and Donna combined their quirky ideas to create Caroline Hedaya, a genesis of Caroline's graceful touches with Donna's architectural aesthetic. For Spring '10, the duo supply us with a girlie gambit of crisp skirts, cropped lace tops, modern vintage frocks, and polka-dot prints made in cream and navy hues. I don't know which I love more: the simple cinched camisole dress or the white cut-out wonder . . .

Here's a fun fact: At the age of 4, Caroline used to get phone calls from her teacher telling her mom that her outfits were too extravagant for school. Luckily, her mother refused to pacify her daughter's eccentric ways - too cute!

Designer Spotlight: CRHEE

Complexity versus ease: That's what CRHEE's Spring/Summer '10 collection explores. Luxurious silk fabrics are used in bold jewel tones and rhythmic prints - the result is dark romance, light sensuality. This season, designer Christine Rhee was inspired by everything from the photography of Guy Bordin, David Fincher videos, to muses Diana Ross and Diane von Furstenberg. She refers to this line as strangely familiar, the concept of classics with a modern undertone. Rompers, flowy tanks, and draped harem pants, ranging from $200 to $450, all fit the description.

There's nothing better than slipping into a cozy cashmere sweater right about now. Yes, it's a splurge, but also a classic. In fact, my favorite heather gray cashmere sweater is five years old - and still going strong. If you're on the prowl for a sumptuous knit to sink into, check out Madeleine Thompson's cashmere goodies. Her Spring '10 collection, modeled by Poppy Delevigne, is streamlined, impeccably tailored, and perfect for everyday wear. With a clientele including the likes of Kate Moss, Renee Zellweger, Agyness Deyn, and Sienna Miller, I'm sure you can admire it, too. Fun fact: the law school graduate also designs jewelry and knitwear. Awesome.

Designer Spotlight: Pavon by Luz & Victoria

Shine on, you crazy diamond. That's what Pavon by Luz & Victoria's Spring/Summer '10 says. It's called Odyssey, after all. Step into the galactic world to feel the groove just in time for Halloween. Shoulders are sharp, sequins are blinding - there's no such thing as timid around here. My favorite piece is this sequin cutout zip bandage dress (left). It looks like a fusion of Herve Leger and Preen. It demands a gutsy, sexy chick to rock it. Like what you see? Peruse the online store for more funky fabulousness.

Designer Spotlight: H Fredriksson

Some designers are influenced by art and nature, and others, like Helena Fredriksson, are affected by Ingmar Bergman's trippy, psychoanalytic films. Using sustainable fabrics and practices, the Brooklyn dweller visited the dark side for Fall, offering up a variety of draped dresses, moody Nordic-print tops, and avant-garde skirts. Her modern cuts are to die for and I'm entranced by her gloomy, romantic vibe.

Designer Spotlight: PH8

Alexander Wang isn't the only one inspired by sports. Set to replace BEBESPORT Nov. 5, PH8's take on sportswear is super sexy, slouchy pieces that aren't gym exclusive. Dressed-down chic dominates PH8's (pronounced 'fate') new collection. The look is ideal for the sporty chic chick (moi!) and check out the styling here - muted gray and black tones, dressed up with sequins, and just a splash of pink - all cut to reveal some skin. Forced to pick a favorite, I'm going with these black zip pocket leggings, the perfect reason to toss your average yoga pant. Kudos to PH8 and Bebe for making sporty so sexy.

Designer Spotlight: Annie Havlicek

Finding hidden talent is my mission in life - I love sharing undiscovered treasures with you. Annie Havlicek, for example, is a prodigy in the making. After studying at the prestigious Parsons School of Design, the designer took on a bunch of internships at various powerhouses, such as Michael Kors, before embarking on her own line. For Fall, Annie showed off her love for the vintage '20s with a selection of flapper-inspired dresses, silky skirts, pleated tops, and tailored wool coats. It's all very soft yet sexy, and I adore her sharp eye for detail. All of a sudden, I feel like heading to the local speakeasy . . .

Designer Spotlight: Mink Pink

It was not too long ago that I got to know Mink Pink. First I spotted its silky LBD with studs on a website, then on Gabrielle Union at an InStyle party. I knew there had to be more fabulousness where that came. Prices are affordable and its designs fresh and youthful.

It all started in Australia in 2005, when a group of Mink Pinkers took inspiration from high-end designers and started creating pieces full of personality. Now, the label is ready to take on the world one store and city at a time. Mark my words, you're about to start seeing Mink Pink everywhere you turn.

Designer Spotlight: Susan Woo

Susan Woo is new in fashion town so let's welcome her. The designer received her BS in fashion design and business, then put her degree to practice at Louis Vuitton, Derek Lam, and Chanel. Not bad. Because Woo has major love for fashion and the environment, her entire Fall collection is made from 100 percent all-natural and sustainable fabrics - organic wool, cottons, and cashmeres. Yet another example of eco being chic. Both day and evening options range from $345 to $1,250 and are currently available at H Lorenzo and Kaight in NYC.
