Fab Flash: Jacob the Jeweler Lands Prison Time

The only ice Jacob the Jeweler will be admiring is the one in his tin cup while serving time in jail (wait - do they even serve ice there?). Notorious "King of Bling" Jacob Arabov, has been sentenced to 30 months in prison after pleading guilty to all charges of laundering over $270 million in drugs for the Black Mafia Family.

Arabov was well-known in the hip-hop community for his oversized watches and high-carat offerings. His over-the-top jewels first caught the attention of late rapper Notorious B.I.G. and has since grown his client list to include Paris Hilton, Jay-Z, Beyoncé Knowles, Madonna, and Victoria Beckham.

The situation could of been a lot worse for Arabov who was looking at 20 years if convicted at trial. "Jacob Arabov and his counsel are pleased that Judge Cohn recognized the amazing story of Jacob, who at age 14 emigrated from the former Soviet Union, came to the US with nothing, and yet managed to become one of the most respected, beloved, and successful jewelers in the world," said Arabov's criminal defense lawyer, Benjamin Brafman.

Oscarworthy: Designers And Diamonds Unite!

It's almost Oscars time, so you know what that means? Diamonds galore! Phillip Lim, Rodarte, Libertine, Jovovich-Hawk, and Alabama Chanin have all joined forces with the Diamond Information Center to celebrate Oscars fashions by creating one-of-a-kind red carpet looks incorporating diamond pieces.

All the gowns, including Rodarte's (left), are currently on display at the Chateau Marmont in LA - today is the last day - so if you're in the area, stop by and report!

Lim has designed a "Galaxy" gown with the help of a Cartier antique brooch. The Rodarte sisters, Laura and Kate Mulleavy, used five diamond butterfly Van Cleef & Arpels brooches to liven their pink dress. Jovovich-Hawk borrowed a gold and diamond Camilla Dietz Bergeron necklace, while Libertine used 21 Neil Lane brooches to dazzle their 1930s black-velvet frock. Alabama Chanin teamed up with Gem Palace and used $50,000 worth of rough diamond beads along the neckline of her ivory gown. I sure hope someone wears one of these diamond-in-the-rough gowns to the Oscars!

She's done modeling, she's done real estate, and now Ivanka Trump is doing diamonds! She plans to launch a diamond jewelry line that will sell in her own boutiques, all to come by the end of the year. The first boutique will open in September on Madison Avenue, followed by a second boutique in Vegas. The collection consists of 80 pieces ranging from $750 to $350,000. Each piece has an oval coral enamel detail, which will serve as Ivanka's signature. Sounds simply fabulous, don't you think, darlings?

Fab Flash: De Beers Opening Online Boutique

Just in time for wedding season, De Beers has decided to peddle its diamonds online! The e-commerce store, which exclusively sells to the United States, allows De Beers to join its competitor Tiffany & Co. in cyberspace. Diamond jewelry is currently offered in ranges from $500 for a gold pendant to a $30,000 engagement ring, and prices will climb higher than $30,000 in the future. I will definitely be using this new web site to drool over all the engagement rings offered! I never seem to tire of doing that!

Ok, I tricked you. Although this post isn't about actual diamond gem stones it is about these fabulous new diamond sparkly eye shadows. These shadows are surprisingly very sheer. They offer a glaze of color with a lot of glittery pow. I think you will love them, they are indeed quite sexy!
