Feb 9 2007 - 3:13pm Did you know that many faux fur coats that are sold in the U.S. are actually made from dog fur? The Humane Society of the United States reports that 24 out of 25 jackets that have been tested, were incorrectly labeled.
I dont wear any kind of fur- even fake. I just feel for the people who thought they were getting fuax fur but were really purchasing the skins of these poor animals
I have the seen the videos of how they skin the racoon dog- it is sooooo disturbing and sad
J.Crew was originally targeted for marking their fur incorrectly but now there are tons of companies with this problem
Wow. You think you're doing good by buying faux and not the real stuff then you find out something like this. Basically don't wear any fur-like material!

disgusting. Fur might be cozy and look ok on some people but all these stories make me not want to wear fur ever.

3JessNess, I agree with you. I wouldn't wear fake fur, either. The idea of it is creepy to me. Sad.
4This is really quite gross. I can't believe that nobody really knew what was going on.
5I have a coat with "racoon" fur trim on it. It's so warm...I live in Chicago, but after reading this I'm returning it!
6Yucky! Fur is just so sad - I don't understand how people can wear it!
