I have plenty of Summer pieces that can work in the Fall, but I'm thinking some stylish socks will help take them from warm weather to cold. So I did some sock hunting and found plenty of cute pairs — striped, solid, short, long. I think these J.Crew Trouser Socks ($10, left) and Urban Outfitters Crochet Socks ($5, originally $8) will fit most seamlessly into my wardrobe.

Every time I go to Target, I leave with at least one bag. For example, when I went last week, I walked out with the navy version of this Mossimo Long Wool Olive Jacket ($49, originally $70). I couldn't resist — it screamed chic Russian military-wear.

Donna Karan's Fall collection is the epitome of Autumn. Warm browns, vivid rust, olive green, terra cotta, mustard, and burgundy were the plush colors the designer used to spice up her line. Now is the perfect time to draw inspiration from it and fill our closets with similar pieces.

The Resort collections opened up a new world of doors for wide-legged pants. They've taken a backseat to the popular skinny leg for the past couple seasons, but the bell-bottomed '70s are back with a vengeance. As exemplified by Angela Missoni's Resort collection (left), mixing crisp, flared trousers with a funky top will lend you instant party chic.

A pair of perfect navy blue sailor pants miraculously made their way into my life recently and have inspired me to bring out my inner sailor-ette, full force. The nautical trend has long been a part of fashion history — hello, Jean Paul Gaultier — but these perfect pants make me want to come sail away, and Shopbop's nautical selection is allowing me to do just that. Won't you join me on my proverbial ship by incorporating anchors, stripes (a la 3.1 Phillip Lim's resort line, left), and brass buttons into your closet?

The fashion world is heavily influenced by Africa and Asia as we speak. And it's a good thing because those countries have a lot of undiscovered trends to offer. British designer Matthew Williamson was ethnically inspired for Spring, and as a result, we saw a lot of beading, mixed prints, and bold colors.
