Trend Alert: Mirrored Lenses

Drew is a kid at heart. That is why we love her so. She sported some cutesy pink mirrored lenses in NYC and, while her outfit was super casual, they reminded us of her perky personality. I suspect hers might even be the Oakley for Paul Smith limited editions. Plus, Proenza Schouler sent mirrored shades down their Spring runway. I have a super fun vintage pair - they were my mom's ski shades in the '80s - that are turquoise with silver mirrors. People seem to love them, maybe it's because they can admire themselves in the reflection while attempting to pay attention to me . . .

Is it me, or is it getting chicer in here? Maybe it's the changing of the season, but I had a lot of favorites this week. Let Kerry Washington and Naomi Watts be an example of the style splendor I speak of. If these two powerful women were walking toward me, I'd move out of the way, but ask them where they got their fine duds first. Kerry was a modern lady in her sheer Malandrino blouse and black pencil skirt. Naomi looked darn cute in her cropped Stella McCartney suit and cool aviators. 2009 Primetime Emmy Awards Trend: Romanza

Romanza was in the air last night at the Emmys as the majority of Hollywood's leading ladies showed off their soft side in swirling ruffles, cascading tulle, sweet lace, soft chiffon, and decadent draping. Such romantic dresses are a popular choice on the red carpet and I can see why. They evoke instant femininity and appeal to both guys and dolls. Drew Barrymore channeled her stylish, inner "Little Edie" during her promotion circuit this week wearing an abundance of sensational ensembles. The adorable actress showed off her experimental side in a flattering striped dress by Narciso Rodriguez; old Hollywood glamour in an Alberta Ferretti nude gown; bohemian chic in a white, '60s-inspired frock by Andrew GN; and avant-garde appeal in a dramatic Giambattista Valli creation. Who Wore It Better? Narciso Rodriguez Satin Striped Sheath Dress

Striped dresses aren't easy to pull off, but Rachel Weisz and Drew Barrymore make it look easy. Rachel wore this Narciso Rodriguez satin striped sheath dress to the Gotham Independent Film Awards back in December with a black clutch and matching stilettos. Drew, on the other hand, snazzed up her frock with red platform slingbacks and a statement bracelet for her appearance on Live With Regis and Kelly. Notice how both stars complemented their ensemble with matte red lips. They both look great, but which one stands out to you?

On Our Radar: Designers Inspired by Grey Gardens

If you're going to watch HBO's Grey Gardens, look forward to seeing a bevy of beautiful (and kooky) costumes worn by Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange. For those of you who don't know, Grey Gardens follows the eccentric, isolated, and crazy lives of of "Big Edie" and "Little Edie" Bouvier Beale, aunt and first cousin to Jackie Onassis, played by Lange and Barrymore.

As for the costumes, they'll be dazzling since they mirror the Beales' unique sense of style. "You’re recreating iconic people. [The style] has been covered so many times and in so many different ways by designers,” said Grey Gardens costume designer, Catherine Marie Thomas, who also mentioned that many of the costumes were found at various vintage shops while others were virtual knock-offs from the original documentary. Such looks include a floral brown and yellow maillot worn by Drew Barrymore which is the same print as the original. “We were lucky that a fan of Grey Gardens had collected that bathing suit,” said Thomas. In fact, designers have been so inspired by this movie, they've created pieces replicating the Beales' one-of-a-kind style that spanned from the 1930s to the 1970s.

Here's how it went down on the red carpet: Scarlett Johansson wore Oscar De La Renta, Drew Barrymore chose Lanvin, Ginnifer Goodwin rocked Bottega Veneta, Jennifer Aniston opted for Burberry, and Jennifer Connelly selected Balmain. They all look as hot on the carpet as they do in the movie. But tell me, which actress is most Fab?
