Get pumped! Sunday is the broadcast of the 2009 Primetime Emmy Awards. Of course, Pop, Fab, Buzz, and I will all be on hand live-blogging the red carpet event with our love it or hate it polls. Most of the time, stars look devastatingly gorgeous for major awards shows, but other times, not so much. Let's take a look at Emmys past to see where some stars stumbled with their hair and makeup looks.

Actors Show Off Their Actors at SAGs Press Room Party

Tom Cruise wasn't the only one who skipped the red carpet last night, Fool's Gold costars Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey presented an award and stopped by the press room but didn't do the outside posing. They didn't have awards to show off, of course, but the night's big winners did. Tina Fey looked a little uncomfortable with her mini actor (so missing Alec Baldwin, boo) while Edie Falco proudly showed off her double fisting skills. Gotta show some love for Javier and the rest of the cast of No Country. Buzz wants to know how you feel about all of last night's big TV and movie winners. I'm thinking that at least a few of these (movie) winners should get used to those award-statue curls because I hear those Oscars are pretty heavy.

Adrien, Petra, and Chloë Are Divining

Adrien, Petra, and Chloë were all out in NYC last night for the premiere of The Diving Bell and the Butterfly. Petra looked like she was ready for the cabaret, while Adrien was all about quietly slipping his hand into his girlfriend's dress. Scandalous. I guess he was content to let her be the metallic one for the night. Chloë kept her usually daring fashion sense pretty low key last night, and while the color of her dress is nothing to scoff at, we all know what she is capable of. Seriously though, while Petra is one of the few girls who can pull off a fedora, she shouldn't be encouraging people like that.

Primetime Emmy Awards: Mermaids

Mermaids aren't only found in water (they do exist I swear!), they're also spotted on the Emmy red carpet! These stars all chose the womanly silhouette of dresses with form-fitting bodices and flared bottoms. Katherine's was the most dramatic, while Kyra and Becki kept it fresh with layers of feathers and tulle. Edie's train is a little more incognito, Mary-Louise's is sleek and Debra kept it classic in black and white. These mermaids stood out in the sea of red...carpet!

Primetime Emmy Awards: A Little Black and White With Your Red Carpet?

These ladies kept it classic and sophisticated in their black and white gowns on the Emmys Red Carpet tonight. Although all of these dresses had a similar color scheme, each one is unique. From Debra Messing's Ralph Lauren mermaid gown and Edie Falco's pretty beading to Sandra Oh's minimal black strapless and Christina's magic bump-hiding Valentino, each one was a statement on its own. There's More In The East Than Just Fashion Week

Naomi Watts left the partying to her co-stars last night at the screening for Eastern Promises in New York. 30 Rock newcomer Edie Falco is proving that there is still life after The Sopranos, although scoring an Emmy on Sunday would definitely be a sweet send off from the show. Meanwhile, is it just us, or did Viggo Mortensen's hotness sort of disappear after the Lord Of The Rings days? This film seems to be more along the lines of A History of Violence - check out the dark and creepy trailer here.

Mischa, Edie & Samuel L. All Save the Children!

Fashion wasn't the only thing Rocking last night, elsewhere in Manhattan celebs were gathering for a Save the Children charity event. Mischa managed to make both parties, hob nobbing with the likes of Julianne Moore, Samuel L. Jackson, Edie Falco and President George H. W. Bush. Edie looked especially radiant on the red carpet out to celebrate some awesome casting news - she's returning to the small screen for a three episode guest starring gig on 30 Rock! Yay! She is definitely living every week like shark week!

The Piano Man Lures Fancy Celebs to The Hamptons

All sorts of celebrities came out Saturday night in the Hamptons for a Billy Joel concert as part of the Social @ Ross series. MK took a break from her new Weeds life for the event, along with Billy's former wife Christie Brinkley and now wife Katie Lee. It always seems a little random to see Renee Zellweger out and about, though she's looking pretty happy, so, uh, yay? Kelly Ripa and Mark were adorable as always. Meanwhile, check out the gallery for this event -- Alec Baldwin has seen better days and Adam Sandler might have fallen asleep mid-show. Whoops. Being said, I'm sure the show was a blast. The Piano Man is quite the performer.

Stars Celebrate Super Saturday

A bunch of beautiful ladies came out this weekend for Super Saturday 10, a party to benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. Donna Karan and InStyle hosted the event in NY and Kelly Ripa was the special guest. Mandy Moore and Christy Turlington looked adorable as Elisabeth Hasselbeck showed off her pregnant belly. Super Saturday includes rides for the kids, live performances and guests get to browse the "Rolls Royce of garage sales" which includes over 200 designers at the one-of-a-kind sale. What a fabulous way to give to a good cause!

Angie Walks Mighty Red Carpet In Budget Gown

As some of you may have realized, wherever Angelina goes, heated conversation follows, but at last night's NYC premiere of A Mighty Heart the whispers weren't about her life or actions -- they were about her dress. Instead of going with the myriad designer frocks she could clearly get her hands on, Angie went with a $26 vintage dress from a thrift store in LA. I'm not loving it, but I totally know when you find something you like, you gotta go with it! She wasn't nearly as frugal with her feet though -- for those she went with some crystal heeled Louboutins (very much like those amazing $930 Louboutins Cam wore on Ellen). Aside from her clothes, Angie looked radiant and in love alongside Brad on the red carpet. I'm sure they're thrilled to finally see this labor of love on the big screen, but the rest of us are going to have to wait -- it's not really released until June 22.

Have You Tried Gyrotonic?

What do Madonna, Teri Hatcher, and Edie Falco all have in common? They all share a love for Gyrotonic. You might be asking yourself, "What the heck is Gyrotonic?" It sounds like some sort of sexual beverage concoction, I know, but it is an innovative, somewhat complicated form of exercise.

I usually explain that Gyrotonic is like Pilates but in three dimensions instead of just two. It is very circular while Pilates is very square. Gyrotonic emphasizes mobility and Pilates tends to focus more on stability. You can think of gyro as yoga with resistance.

The machine known as the Cobra (or Tower Pulley) resembles a medieval torture device, but don't be intimidated since looks can be deceptive. Performing the motions of Gyrotonic feels so great that you can almost forget you're exercising. The exercises (there are about 50 sets of them with multiple variations) are based on the principles of yoga, ballet, swimming, t'ai chi, and gymnastics. That's a lot of principles so you can tell it is a mind/body exercise, so workout boredom in a Gyrotonic session is virtually impossible. The system emphasizes breath control and controlled resistance to develop flexibility and strength while encouraging a complete range of circular motion. The machine consists of a bench that you sit or lie on and a tower with a system of cables, pulleys, and weights, which you move with straps on your hands or feet or with handles attached to circular plates in the front.

If you are interested in trying it out, you can often find Gyrotonic instructors at many Pilates studios (the two forms are great complements to one another). Or you can check this Studio Finder function on the Gyrotonic website. The downside is that private sessions are as expensive, if not more so, than private Pilates sessions: $65 to $85 per session. Group classes are rare since the machine is so dang big.

If you have a chance to try it out, I highly recommend it.

Selma and Minnie Have a Black and White Ball

Selma and Minnie were just a few of the ladies who attended the women's filmmaker brunch at Soho House during the Tribeca Film Festival. Selma is fresh from the premiere of Purple Violets and looked amazing in her one shoulder white hot dress. She's quite a contrast to Minnie's dark denim look. Minnie's looking pretty hot these days. Perhaps she is psyched that her FX show, The Riches, is rumored to be picked up for another season.
