Essie Unveils a Lip Gloss

According to Lucky magazine, the Essie Ballet Slippers nail-polish shade may be the most requested color of all time, with about 20,000 bottles sold a week. Now, the boutique beauty company has come out with a corresponding lip gloss in the same shy pink shade, called Essie Gloss-e in Ballet Slippers. The gloss, which has a super-slick, polished finish and a non-sticky texture, comes in five other cheekily named shades, including the brownish-mauve Tea & Crumpets Gloss-e and Fed Up Gloss-e, which is a slightly brick-tinged pink. Dark and Sexy Nail Polish

Last week we asked you about Black Nail Polish – Love it or Hate it? It looks like Victoria Beckham Loves It, but most of you hated it. A lot of you did point out, however, that other dark colors are sexy and chic for Fall.

As far as I can tell the original dark nail polish craze started with Chanel's "Vamp" in 1994. Vamp is described as a rich dark chocolaty-red, almost black. Apparently the color was discontinued for awhile, but is now back. I have been trying to find it online all morning and it's nowhere to be found, not even on eBay. If anyone finds it, please let us all know!

Cocktail-Inspired Beauty Concoctions

As we head into the weekend, why not overindulge in some cocktail-inspired beauty products? Lately, I've been noticing a ton of cute, cocktail-themed concoctions, which would make a great gift for a girls' weekend or just a fun treat for yourself. Just try not to use these after you've overindulged in the real thing; I can't imagine that a gin-and-tonic perfume smells very good when you're battling a hangover. Here are some of my favorite finds.

This Ooohlala of Beverly Hills Cocktail Hour Foaming Bath smells like black currant and rose and comes in an adorable shaker-shaped bottle. You can buy it for $19.50 here.

Rich Chocolate Nail Polish

We've all heard how hot dark nail polish is this Fall. But why not break the mold a little bit and try a deep chocolate brown instead of black polish? The Fall 2006 nail color collections have plenty of rich brown hues to choose from, and these cocoa-infused colors look great with the earth-toned accessories that are big this season.
