Who knew LC was going to go from The Hills to fashion design back to The Hills and then into the literary world? Works for me. Now that the ex-Hills star has more time on her hands, she has added another project to her budding book club.

Alicia Keys can belt out a mean tune, and now she's about to show her talent in jewelry design. The singer, along with Gisèle Theriault, has launched a sterling silver and gemstone line called The Barber's Daughters. What makes it special is each piece is inscribed with author Masaru Emoto's poetry and prayers.

The celebrity designer wheel keeps on turning. The latest star to join the club is Gossip Girl Michelle Trachtenberg. She is teaming up with Coach to design a costume jewelry line under its Poppy label — faux pearls and colorful crystals hit stores in the Spring.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have tackled a lot together — namely, a growing family. A high-end jewelry line is the latest. Dubbed The Protector, it's inspired by snakes because Angelina considers the reptile a protector of her family.

There's more reason to love Wu now that the designer has taken on a new project: designing a capsule collection for Tse. “When she [Tse's CEO, Christina Peng-Gerschultz] asked me if I wanted to do a capsule [line], I thought, ‘This could be interesting,’” said Wu. “In many ways, I am probably the least expected designer to do this, because Tse’s aesthetic is so different from my own, but that’s one reason I wanted to do it.”
The collection will be comprised of woven and knitwear pieces dipped in colorful hues.

After showing a magical Spring '10 collection at Paris Fashion Week, it's shocking to hear that Luella has ceased all operations. The brand's licensee, Club 21, just announced it has "taken the decision not to invest further in its relationship with Luella Bartley Limited."
Furthermore, the production of Luella's Spring '10 collection has been put to a stop since its ready-to-wear producer, Carla Carini, had to shutter its doors unexpectedly.

Update: The collection will be called MDLR Moises de la Renta for Mango and will consist of a mini-collection of cotton tees and tanks with tulle and gemstone trims.
Remember Adam Lippes's collection for Spanish retailer Mango? Looks like Mango may have nabbed another up-and-comer: Oscar de la Renta's son Moises.

It's raining baubles: Thakoon, Alice + Olivia, and Milly have announced expansions into jewelry.
Thakoon Panichgul has been swooped up by Japanese fine jewelry brand, Tasaki, to serve as its creative director. “My goal is to approach jewelry design in the same manner that I approach clothing: always move forward but respect the past,” said Panichgul.

Mary-Kate and Ashley's new line, Olsenboye, dropped at JCPenney stores and jcp.com today. The prices are low to begin with, but a lot is even further on sale. Plaid shirts, casual tees, tie-dye bags, and ruffled shoes are just some pieces the twins dreamed up for their junior fans.
