The adorable and smiley Rachel Bilson was seated front and center at the Chanel Fashion Show today as she walked arm in arm with her buddy Jill Schwartz, wife of The O.C. creator Josh Schwartz. Rachel was sweet enough to let me bend her ear for a few moments (when I introduced myself she said, "I love PopSugar!") in between getting her photo taken. Brooklyn Decker on the Brooklyn Bridge and Talking High Fashion

Brooklyn Decker is everywhere we turn these days. Besides being Andy Roddick's wife, she's also in Jennifer Aniston's new movie, as well as an in-demand model. But she wasn't always so successful. In Page Six Magazine's Sept. 14 issue - where she poses sexily on the Brooklyn Bridge - she opens up about high fashion and not fitting in:

"When I started out, I wanted to be that tiny runway girl, but I'm not super skinny. I have boobs. I'm very all-American. Quirky was definitely in, which I find quite beautiful, but that's not what I am. In fashion, there needs to be something unique, and I wasn't edgy. Plus, I'd walk in and be like, 'Hey guys!' with a big smile on my face. And they'd be like, 'You are not cool. You are too nice.' I got a lot of, 'If you want to walk a runway, there is a standard that you have to fit. They're not gonna change the standard for you.' Taylor Momsen Dishes on Madonna, Music, and Personal Style

To no one's surprise, Gossip Girl's rebel child, Taylor Momsen, was revealed as the face of Madonna's Material Girl collection, bowing Aug. 3 at Macy's. So just how was she chosen by Madonna to be the face of the brand? "I was ecstatic to be asked. It's such an honor. It's Madonna. I was kind of shocked. She's amazing. The role entails doing the launch of the line on Aug. 3 at Herald Square. And I'll be tweeting and talking about the line. We did a photo shoot for the first pieces of the collection. It's a really great line. It's really cool," said Momsen.

All her songs are so great. They’re so well crafted and really perfect, pure, pop genius. I'm a big fan of "Papa Don't Preach." I love that song. But really all of it is fantastic. She was the one who did it all first. She gave people like me an avenue to do what I'm doing. She was the one who started all the controversy to begin with. I'm a big fan of all kinds of vintage looks and altering them and making them modern. I don't know if I copy anything directly, but I like to mix and match and play around a lot.

Last night, Prabal Gurung spoke to a sold-out audience at the Fashion Institute of Technology about his newfound success, dreams of designing for a major fashion house, and how Oprah Winfrey motivated him to move to NYC. The Nepalese designer, who admitted to not having much knowledge in American pop culture, was inspired by one of Oprah's shows - one that focused on following one's dreams - to move to NYC to pursue his designing dreams. Fresh off showing his arctic-inspired Fall '10 Chanel collection at Paris Fashion Week, Karl Lagerfeld took time out to chat with WWD about the ever-evolving fashion system, Twitter, and online shopping. When asked about his thoughts on the current fashion industry, the Kaiser responded, "We are in the middle of change, like the movies changed. There will be a change from two-dimensions to three-dimensions, just as films went from silent to talking. This is a very interesting period. There is nothing you can do to prevent it. These are our times, and if you start to fight against them, you are lost. You are a loser or a has-been." Harsh, but true.

I've never seen such a thing in San Francisco: When we left the book signing of The Sartorialist by Scott Schuman at the Paul Smith store last night, the line to get in was down the block and around the corner. It's safe to say the street-style photog is a star. Book in hand, we approached the dapper Scott, who's completely handsome and respectable in person. He signed away, we chic chatted.
So why did he pick Julie, the New Yorker, for the cover? He explained how every time he posts Julie's picture on The Sartorialist, people comment about how perfect she is, so chic, so modern. But what they don't know is that she's less perfect than most because one leg is slightly shorter than the other. She's not traditionally perfect, but she knows how to work her imperfections and has a great pose. Selecting her for the cover had a deeper meaning than just someone who looked great.

To hear what else Scott told us,

Anyone who reads Scott's site knows that he's going out with French street-style photographer, Garance Doré. We mentioned to him how cute she is, and he corrected us, "she's totally hot!" He then proceeded to turn to page 314 of the book to show us the moment Garance fell in love with him two years ago. In the photo, she has a beaming, genuine smile. 'Tis love.

Fab Exclusive! Rachel Roy on East Coast Versus West Coast

During our interview with Rachel Roy, we talked to the designer about growing up in the Bay Area (Monterey), and the differences between East and West Coast life. Interestingly, Rachel described the East Coast as more segregated compared to the West:

"I grew up in the Bay Area and went to college on the East Coast. Things were quite segregated, and I wasn't into that. I'm only 35 - so it's not like we're talking many years ago - but I wasn't used to it because I grew up around Samoans, African-Americans, and Filipinos. You go to a club based on the music you like, not based on the kind of people you want to be around. I kind of went into a culture shock when I moved to the East Coast.

I try to bring back that laid-back, hippie-chic attitude that the Bay Area has to my business because I've interned at so many places in fashion where it can be quite anal. But I also love New York. I love that it's the closest city we have to Europe, so that's a part of me, but thank God I'm from an area that keeps me out of it."
