At Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs showed an innocent young debutante, flitting about in frothy feather-trim dresses and candy-colored pencil skirts, while Ralph Lauren's runway spotlighted full-blown Great Gatsby-era opulence, giving way to beaded gowns and marabou toppers. Not only were feathers a huge runway trend, but they've been taking off on the red carpet too - just recently at the 2012 Met Gala, style stars like Diane Kruger, Kate Bosworth, and Beyoncé all sported gorgeous gowns fitted with the fluffy stuff, proving that feathers can look fun, flirty, and ultimately glamorous. While there are feathery extensions available that need to be woven into the hair, like the ones from Featherlocks or Fine Feather Heads, there are also plenty of clip-in styles. But her latest daring choice - an Ann Demeulemeester Feather Circle Scarf ($480) - she wore to Bulgari's 125th anniversary party in Paris is questionable. Don't get me wrong, I think if anyone can pull it off, it's her, but is it a look you would want to rock? I adore feathers, I dig circle scarves, I just don't know if I love them together. Thoughts?

Nice and New: Alexander McQueen For The Rug Company

Before he passed away in February, Alexander McQueen created a luxurious six-piece collection of rugs and pillows for The Rug Company, and now, three years in the making, the line is finally available. McQueen's trademark skull pattern made its way onto one baby blue and white rug, as well as two pillows, in black and gold, while his recognizable hummingbird, feather, and military broçade themes make up the rest of the line. Finely knotted, the hummingbird rug is an almost photographic reproduction of McQueen's sartorial design, though these pieces will cost you more. A six-by-nine rug goes for about $19,000, while a scarf will cost you only $260. As for accessorizing and creating your ensemble, I think the same rules apply: layer one of McQueen's rugs or pillows over simple separates or go bold and mix them with prints.
