2010 Spring Milan Fashion Week Fab Roundup!

Even under a scrunched time line, Milan Fashion Week stunned with numerous beautiful collections. In this roundup, I highlight some of my favorite designers, including Versace, Ferragamo, Fendi, and Armani, to name a few. I admit, Dolce & Gabbana's collection was my favorite, but that's not stopping me from showing you Bottega's soft and swirly frock, Gucci's cut-out wonder, and Emilio Pucci's magical prints. I can't seem to resist this tropical bohemian masterpiece from Etro. Simply a-mazing.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Are Designers With Style

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were on a sisterly shopping mission for art earlier this week in NYC. The twins matched their black skinny jeans with black sandals but showed off their individual personalities with their tops - although some things never change, like their love of Fendi and plaid shirts. The newly 22-year-olds always seem to know how to keep it artsy and effortlessly cool, which is just another reason we are excited to purchase their new jewelry line in September.

Fab Flash: London Fashion Raiders Strike Again

Just a few weeks ago we reported on London's Fashion Raiders targeting the Salvatore Ferragamo boutique on Bond Street and last night they did it again. This time, the gang known as the 'Scooter Gang' targeted the Fendi store on Sloane Street.

The gang who have been identified as six men made off on a motorbike with plenty of bags of Fendi goodies. They were caught on camera by paparazzi (who says they have no use?) as they speeded past celeb hot spot Cipriani's (they were hoping to catch a glimpse of Rebecca Loos).

The gang struck just before 10pm and mainly took handbags which are obviously easy to sell on. The police are struggling to recognise the gang as they always wear helmets and ride bikes without number plates. See below for images of the gang and the store on Sloane Street.

Sneak Peek! Karl Lagerfeld Behind the Camera

The usually stoic Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld let loose (and even cracked a slight smile) in Madison Square Park on Wednesday while he took on his other occupation: photographer.

His current muse, gazelle-like model Raquel Zimmermann, posed and made silly faces while the designer snapped away for what I'm assuming is the next Fendi ad campaign. Of course, he didn't leave home without his fingerless leather gloves, dark shades, and square-toe boots. I'm digging the tweed trench coat he's donning. These models deserve praise because I can't imagine working with a photographer-slash-designer . . . Kaiser Karl no less!

Milan Fashion Week, Fall 2008: Fendi

If they told Cashmere Mafia's Mia Mason she must live in Fendi's Fall '08 collection all next autumn season, she'd be over the moon, sun, and stars. That's because this collection was filled with luxurious and fluffy fur coats and wide-belts.

But Kaiser Karl didn't forget about the less flashy customer. For them, he provided lots of dim hues and interesting textures: knits, feathers, wool. Turtleneck dresses, ruffled leather jackets, and heavy knit sweaters were all cinched at the waist with masculine belts. Bug-like cocoon coats peeped their bulgly little heads again . . . but I can forgive and forget because the rest of the collection is spot-on!

Milan Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2008: Fendi

Milan Fashion Week Fall 2008 came to an end last night with shows by Italian fashion giants Pucci and Fendi. Fendi mixed textured fabrics to create a collection which challenged proportions. They mixed leather, fur, suede and wool to create a line of voluminous short length skirts and dresses. There were plenty of frills, tiers and cut out detail to ensure each piece was individual.

Waists were clinched with leather belts in varying proportions to create a womanly body-con shape. Big pockets, cape sleeves and over the shoulder bags added padding to the sleek silhouette. Dresses and coats were styled with shoe boots or high suede boots were worn over the knee. There were a few cute bubble skirts which looked great with thick black tights, one of the best looks for the winter season!

Spring Peek: Grab Bags

You all seemed a bit apprehensive about the shoes of Spring and I gotta tell ya: the bags also come from Funkytown. Clutches continue to be the bag of choice, in both oversized and embellished versions. I have a blue crush on this patchwork Pucci (pictured). The rest run the gamut from leathery and lux to dainty and funky. Whatever your grab bag desires, carry them out this Spring.

Spring Peek: Avant-Garde and the Funky Bunch

Fashion has reached a pinnacle point of experimentalism. This Spring season wasn't just the usual experimenters like Hussein Chalayan and Christian Lacroix. Mainstream designers like Marc Jacobs and Dolce & Gabbana (left) took a stab at risky thinking, albeit polarizing. Whether inspired by artists, geometric shapes, nature, or nurses, the avant-garde and the funky bunch provided unique fashion fare. Can you dig it?

Kate and Thandie in Awe of Fendi at Great Wall of China

Karl Lagerfeld once again stepped up his own game, staging his Fendi fashion show on the Great Wall of China on Thursday night. Talk about an event to remember. Among those lucky enough to attend were Kate Bosworth and Thandie Newton, who gushed about the big event. The ladies' outfits were daring, but totally perfect for such a spectacle. Kate even said that she brought her own camera to snap some pictures because she was so excited. Check out the video below to see Kate and Thandie being a little bit awestruck by the awesome scene. Leave it to Karl to render everyone a little bit speechless.
