July couldn't last longer. It really is one of the best months, that is, if you're a Summer girl like me. For this month's adventures - BBQs, surfing, concerts, and weekend jaunts - I need little more than a bikini and jean shorts, but it's fun to fantasize about lavish parties where I would wear an electric DVF maxi or killer lazer cut white Elizabeth and James heels. A mixed metal belt, modern city flats, and a party bag are key Summer accessories. Oh, and it's prime sundress time.

Trend Alert: Stormy Prints

My new go-to cocktail is a Dark and Stormy. Imagine yourself in a dim dive, drinking one of those bad boys, in a stormy print. Tough stuff. Kristen Bell upped her stormy stuff by wearing this marble-print Vena Cava layered over a printed tank and studded Louboutins. And yet, she doesn't appear, too, intimidating. She softened things up with her killer smile and golden locks. Whether a thunderstorm or lightening strike, stormy prints are electric.

Tear, a good friend of mine is moving to Japan this week. I'll miss her dearly, but I know she's in for a great adventure.
