Last night's Time 100 gala not only celebrated its 2012 list of most influential people, but it also drew an insanely influential crowd to its party. While we were hoping that list honorees Pippa and Kate Middleton would surprise us all with an appearance, we were just as pleased to spot the likes of Claire Danes in head-to-toe Lanvin and Rihanna in a princess-worthy pink Marchesa dress and Christian Louboutin heels. But they weren't the only ones to impress us with their red-carpet style - Kristen Wiig donned a black lace Stella McCartney jumpsuit and Gucci T-bar sandals, Georgina Chapman posed in one of her own frothy white frocks, and Lauren Bush stunned in a chic white floor-length gown. Suffice it to say, the evening was not short on glamour or A-list power. Now, it's time for you to decide who earned the title of Time 100 gala's best-dressed attendee.

Christian Dior Fall 2012

Most girls spend their childhood days dreaming of fairytale endings and prima ballerina flights of fancy. To this point, we imagine the Christian Dior Fall 2012 lineup brought to life so many of those diaphanous frocks and ballgowns conjured up in our heads. Creamy pinks and pastels, full-skirted silhouettes, and strong ballerina references - right down to the ankle-strap heels - punctuated the collection. There were silky knotted-at-the-nape dresses, super-cinched waists (belted, at that), tailored peplum tops with rich stone embroideries at the neckline, and an aprés-dance sweater-over-dress look cute enough to inspire us all to hit the barre. The equally feminine accessories - wide belts, opera-length leather gloves, luxe beanies, portfolio clutches, and pointe-shoe-inspired heels - provided a well-rounded polish to each frothy lilac, pink, and muted gray creation. Rich in cut and girlie proportions, the final gowns proved to be worthy of the princess-like ensembles that preceded them - both in red-carpet wearability and elegance. It was a perfectly ladylike showing of nipped waists and sophisticated, flowing silhouettes, with just the softest pops of paisley and houndstooth prints. See below for more Christian Dior details.

If we had to describe Dolce & Gabbana's Fall 2012 collection in one word, it would be opulent. Designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have a knack for capturing the essence and unbridled spirit of the Italian woman, and for Fall they showed a luxe, Sicilian Baroque-inspired collection of lace, elaborate brocade embroidery, and sleek, sexy silhouettes. The show opened with stunning rose-covered chandeliers and sweeping floral arrangements to the music of authentic Italian opera - big names like Natasha Poly, Bianca Balti, and Joan Smalls graced the runway in delicate lace dresses with lavish gold embellishments, sweet, frothy frocks in layers of tulle, and ruffled bloomers that would make even Sophia Loren blush. The plunging necklines of Spring '12 were replaced with ladylike high ruffles and bow-ties, and although sheer lace was prevalent, most hemlines stayed well below the knee for a true sophisticated spin on la dolce vita. The bold needlepoint-style florals and cherubic mural prints will also be an editorial dream come Fall - we can already see stars like Blake Lively and Sarah Jessica Parker getting shot in them.
