I first saw this, SkyRoll Roll-Up Garment Bag, $109, on "The Big Idea: Donny Deutsch." You should have seen me; I went crazy trying to find a pen and paper to write it down to tell you all about it! It's the world's first roll-up garment bag and though it doesn't look too amusing in photos, it's genius! (Check out the video).

What's so cool about it? Well firstly, unlike traditional garment bags, it is convenient to carry while traveling. You just toss it over your shoulder and voila. Secondly, because your clothes are rolled and not folded, wrinkles are thoroughly minimized! I love that because I rarely feel like ironing while on vacay. Throw a couple of your lovely dresses in there and hop to it!

Your dry-cleaned clothes come in a suffocating plastic bag. After living in it for days, they need some air. Remove the plastic bag as soon as you get home, so moths don't flock to them. If you're not comfortable with them hanging naked, opt for a Cotton Garment Bag ($16–$20); they'll protect your clothes without putting them in a sauna-like environment. John Mayer, Secret Fashion Player, Take 2

You may or may not have been convinced John Mayer is a secret fashion player in my first story, so let's give it another go. Maybe a sexier photo will help? A sexier photo of Mayer with shopping bags?! I spot a Louis Vuitton bag amongst others carried by a tattooed, tan arm.

OK, down to business. In this edition, Mayer talks about how the Japanese are ahead of the fashion curve (true), gushes about a cool pair of LV pants he bought last year (was that what was in this bag?!), and continues to tell us his style tips . . .

The Japanese are so forward thinking.

"No, they are past-thinking. That’s what is so forward about it. The Japanese will put out magazines devoted to denim for the '50s. You will find full-on books, encyclopedic in nature, all about old motorcycle jackets from the '40s and '60s. So all they are really doing is going through time and finding the greatest version of something and then mass-producing."

What's in your closet?

"I have a closet that’s like the greatest collection of leather jackets and Belstaff's. I know everything down to the name of these jackets but I normally just throw on jeans and a t-shirt. I’m a big Rick Owens guy. Love Rick Owens."

"Number two. Every brand that at least has some solvency to have a store in NYC let’s say. Every single brand makes at least one garment that is worth owning. If you walk into a store because your friend wants to go into G-Star, no offense to G-star, look around and find the best G-star piece. Keep your eyes open. Don’t be a whore for labels. When it’s time, go into a store. Louis Vuitton makes one killer piece that looks nothing like Louis Vuitton every single year. Last year I bought this pair of racing pants. They are like the baggiest, coolest, cottony pants. They are billowy and have a tight hem. They are almost parachutey. Nothing like the LV design language. Everyone breaks design language one time per season. Find it, buy two of them.

"Number three. You never want to look like you bought all your stuff on the same day. Create a rotation. So you want to slowly move things into rotation, even if it means you don’t pop a tag for six months. Slowly move it into rotation. Don’t look like you are hanging out in Biscayne Bay. You know what I’m talking about? Don’t Biscayne Bay.

"Last one. It’s what I call 'long ago and hard to find.' That means, every two garments you buy every season, put them away. Don’t even think about popping them open. That means that a year and a half later when you break it out - assuming it wasn’t ever mass-produced - it will sort of juxtapose itself perfectly with the culture and the style of the day. People will say, Where’d you get that amazing jacket, and you’ll say it was hard to find two years ago. And that is how your style is untouchable."

Style For Style: Easy Traveling With Cotton

Even though it's been a while since the Transportation Security Agency implemented airport liquid regulations, I don't think I'll ever get used to it. Simply put: it's freaking annoying. But, I'm not going to do anything to jeopardize my trip. What I can do is minimize the liquids I take on my travels with me. For cotton items, like this Victoria's Secret Plaid Shirtdress ($68), I learned a brilliant solution to keep them wrinkle-free and travel-easy.

To keep my cotton dresses, shirts, and pants crisp, I use spray starch, like this Faultless Spray Starch ($4). When traveling, however, I don't bring the bulky can with me. So here's what I do . . .

Spray all cotton clothes with starch the day of the flight.
Cover them individually with a plastic bag.
Neatly fold them into luggage or hang them in garment bag.
Upon arrival of destination, take starched clothes out of plastic bags.

Just don't forget step two; you don't want to mess up your non-cotton clothes.

Want to look as cool and collected as Charlize while jetsetting? Pay attention.

Whether you vacation in the Summer or Winter (moi), as relaxing as a vacation can be, sometimes getting to and from is not so. I wouldn't call myself extremely well-traveled but my passport is pretty colorful. I have some tips when it comes to packing and making the airport trek as smooth sailing as possible. But before I divulge, remember: travel is stressful but what awaits on the other end is bliss. So sit back, remember to breathe and enjoy the ride.

Diane von Furstenberg delivers us many wise words and on the topic of packing, here are some, "I think if you've figured out how to pack, you've figured out your life." So don't fret my friends, mastering the art of packing is a life long task.

Packing 101

Maintain a coordinated color palette. That doesn’t mean it has to be boring! Red, purple, black and dark denim is a modern and interesting combination. As for the tropics, how does yellow, purple, white and gold sound? Fabulous.
Consider dresses, lots of dresses. Here is an item that’s easy to throw on and is an outfit in itself.
Keep shoes neutral; black, brown, metallic and white shoes/sandals. This will make things less stressful when trying to color coordinate outfits and accessories.

Razzle dazzle. Jewelry can liven up any look. I only travel with costume jewelry, for fear of theft or losing things. Do not pack your jewelry in your checked luggage - carry it with you.
Fold n' roll. Some items are better to roll, some are better to fold. Roll thin, delicate fabric tops and dresses; fold tougher, bigger items like jeans and jackets.
Handbags. This is the time to utilize your favorite, most functional, handbags; always bring a clutch for a night out or quick dinner.
Storage. You can store your costume jewelry, and small accessories like belts, within your clutch within your bigger handbags. This way your jewelry is protected and won’t break. Again, storing jewelry in your main bag is only recommended if you're not checking your luggage.
Wrinkle prevention. Carolina Herrera recommends using a lot of tissue paper, placing it between folds and garments, to prevent wrinkles. Also, extra TP always comes in handy, no?

In Flight

I always carry a comfy, cloth headband when I travel. In flight hair gets flat or static attack; you can slip one on, look put together and have your hair out of your face.
Cardigans. I find cardis are great travelers; they are lightweight, versatile and feminine. They manage to be cozy but not suffocating.
Cold feet. I tend to wear sandals on flights in warmer months. For a short flight I don't mind, but for a long one my toes get chilly. To prevent discomfort, and possibly getting sick, bring a pair of favorite socks so you can feel at ease throughout the flight.
Scarves are a must. Or pashminas. They may be trendy but they're also functional. Case in point: Charlize!
Hoop earrings - big or small - are ideal for travel. They don't scream wealth and they provide a touch of fancy for when you're feeling frumpy. They also work well with earphones, unlike big studs or chunky jewelry.
Go go green. Save some plastic and do your body, and planet, good by carrying a SIGG bottle rather than multiple bottles. These come in many fun designs now so pick one that communicates your personal style.
Just in case. I always carry a pair of clean undies in a Ziploc bag; if you're going to the tropics, I also recommend bagging a bikini - if anything goes wrong, you can swim your troubles away STAT.

Destination Anywhere

Worrisome wrinkles. Bring any wrinkled-en-route items into the bathroom with you when you (finally) get to your hotel and take a shower, hang it on the door, and let the steam naturally take some of the wrinkles away. No worries.
Lint control. Remember: you can always use the luggage stickers from the airline as a lint removing sticker!

A Look at the Accessories of Chanel Paris-Londres Métiers d’Art Collection

Yesterday Karl Lagerfeld presented his “Métiers d’Art” collection in London. This collection is shown outside of the official fashion calendar and is unique to Chanel. It was established in 2002 following the acquisition of the master Parisian ateliers who have been collaborating with the house for decades. It's a celebration of the exceptional decorative craft of these ateliers.

I spent the sunsetting part of my day examining close-ups of the accessories. Since the collection is a tribute to the decorative craft, I wanted to use my discriminating eye. The collection tickled my fascination with vampires - moody, tailored, heavily embellished looks. Seeing as how the inspiration was the "English chic" that Coco Chanel herself was introduced to by her British lovers, Boy Capel and the Duke of Westminster, this makes perfect sense.

From jeweled crosses to sparkling chain bags, these could outfit a fashionable remake of Bram Stoker's Dracula. I especially love the silver-tipped shoe and gold metal lace gloves. The placement of jewels in the hair and on garments is an inspiring technique. In all their goth splendor, these accessories are indeed a modern tribute to the decorative.
