Our favorite part about last night's Super Bowl? The Madonna halftime show. The 53-year-old proved she's still got it, singing, dancing, and above all, looking amazing in a sexy studded getup. Going with an Egyptian-themed show, Madonna wore a black-and-gold studded Givenchy dress, thigh-high boots, fishnet tights, and her trademark fingerless gloves. Couture Fashion Week: Givenchy

Givenchy's Spring 2012 presentation just validated our longtime desire to play basketball in a couture gown - Riccardo Tisci brought total glamour to the hardwood, showing beautiful '20s and '30s-inspired looks reminiscent of classic science fiction films. It took 350 hours to complete the silk jersey gowns, which were embroidered with scales of crocodile skin, curve-contouring zippers, and opaque beads - making for extraordinarily one-of-a-kind pieces that are sure to bring the ultimate drama to any red carpet. The feminine, slightly edgy collection was simply breathtaking, and we can't wait to see which starlet will sport the pieces this season.

Trends: Crystals, sequins, and lots of intricate beaded detailing; crocodile scales embroidered on silk tulle.

We've been loving the sequin-collar look on Hailee Steinfeld and on the Fall 2011 Givenchy runway, so we decided to make our own version just in time for the holiday season. It's an easy way to update a top you already own, and it's an affordable way to try out the trend. All you need is a cotton top with a collar, sequin trim (have fun with color!), Aleene's Jewel-It glue, pins, and scissors - so simple, right? Make sure you let your top dry overnight once you're done, and remember to hand wash it gently so that the sequin trim doesn't come off. Riccardo Tisci's Spring '12 collection for Givenchy drew upon oceanic influences in a modern, unexpected way showing eel skin, sequins, shark tooth necklaces, and clothing cut to look as if they'd grown a fin. There were no prints like there were for Fall; rather, the focus was on texture and cut, delivered on top supermodels like Gisele, Natalia Vodianova, and Karolina Kurkova. Sharp, sexy suiting played a big role in the collection for Tisci showing a varied mix with scuba-like pants paired with sleeveless blazers, peplum jackets, and dramatic statement blouses made to look like gorgeous underwater fins. Exotic skins such as eel, shark, or stingray further played into the underwater theme. For eveningwear, Tisci created dazzle with head-to-toe metallic sequined suit sets and dresses fit for any jet-setting, party-hopping queen. Read more details from the collection below.

It's a very ladylike way to add sparkle to your outfit: show it on a sharp collar. Found in the Fall '11 collections from Givenchy, Miu Miu, and Valentino, the look is surprising versatile and definitely statement-making. Emma Watson paired the collar with a sequin jacket in her most recent editorial for i-D mag, and Hailee Steinfeld looked adorable in a beaded sheath at a Miu Miu party. While a pearl-embellished top from Valentino is available now ($1,090), we expect it will be a short matter of time before this trend pops up in more affordable versions. Wear it on its own, with the blouse tucked into slim trousers or a pencil skirt for a polished look. For a more offbeat approach (the way we would do it!), layer it under a crew-neck sweater or sweatshirt, skinny jeans, and oxfords for a back-to-school look that is totally cute and unexpected.
