This is one side of Claire Danes I'd like to see more of. At first glance I hardly recognized her! The actress looks sun kissed to perfection wearing nothing but gem encrusted bracelets, rings, and necklaces from the Gucci Fine Jewelry Chiodo Collection. I'm loving her strawberry red hair and neutral makeup palette.

I like how this ad shows off a rare, playful, and sexy Danes. My only complaint is that her hands shouldn't be covering her pretty face so much. What do you think about Claire's latest modeling endeavor?

Fab Flash: Claire Danes to Represent Gucci Fine Jewelry

Claire Danes has quite the tough act to follow. It was announced today that she is replacing Drew Barrymore, who was Gucci's first ever celebrity campaign face, as the Gucci Fine Jewelry girl.

Drew's ads were stunning, and hopefully Claire's will be just as iconic - she's being photographed by the same duo as Drew - Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.

As for the reasoning behind the choice, Gucci's designer Frida Giannini explains: "Claire's sensual, confident beauty and her passionate, independent, and strong character embodies today's Gucci woman." The ads are set to debut this Fall.

Fab Ad: Drew Barrymore for Gucci Fine Jewelry

I've always thought Drew is pretty in a tousled sort of way. But I could never imagine, until I laid eyes on these Gucci Fine Jewelry ads, that she could be such a refined beauty. I did a double take at first because I didn't believe it was her modeling such a glamorous collection of Gucci's famous horsebit designs. She must be very flattered because she is the first ever celebrity to be featured in a Gucci ad. These were shot by Dutch photographers Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin in a Paris studio. Oh la la!

Drew even got Gucci Creative Director Frida Giannini's stamp of approval: “Drew brought wonderful energy and excitement to this project. She is such a strong and confident woman, but her humor and sensitivity made her completely disarming." Do you share her sentiment about these ads?

Fab Flash: Drew is the Face of Gucci Fine Jewelry!

One of our favorite gals, Drew, gets the honor of being the first celebrity tapped by Gucci to appear in one of its ad campaigns! She was photographed for the fine jewelry line in a Paris studio, and the advertisements portray her laying sensually on a golden beach decked out with extravagant jewelry; she looks Fab! The ads will first launch in the September issues of fashion magazines worldwide.

You might say Lara Bohinc has earned herself some serious bragging rights. She's collaborated on jewelry for both Gucci and Lanvin, and she currently works as a design consultant for Cartier.

It all started ten years ago, when the Slovenian-born designer started her eponymous line straight out of school. Since then, her chunky jewelry, knot motifs, and architectural metalworking has gathered a client base that reads like a VIP list: Madonna, Kate Moss, SJP, Cameron Diaz, Christina Aguilera, and Gwen Stefani. Her most recent development is a collection of fine jewelry, which starting last month is being sold exclusively at Harrods in London.

Lara Bohinc is available at Net-a-Porter and runs $370-$965.

Although many of you professed to be sick of the celebrity model phenomenon back in October, fashion labels are still obsessed. In 2007, St. John looked to Angelina Jolie to breathe beauty back into the label; Marc Jacobs hand-picked Scarlett Johansson to Vogue for Louis Vuitton; Lindsay Lohan became the purveyor of Jill Stuart's Fall collection; Drew Barrymore shone in Gucci fine jewelry; and Sienna Miller brought Tod's into the public eye. Those of you naysayers, brace yourself for 2008: we've already learned that Jennifer Connelly's working the Balenciaga ads and Victoria Beckham is adding a Posh touch to the Marc Jacobs campaign . . .

Fab Ad: Gucci Cruise 2008

Gucci's on a roll. First they come out with gorgeous fine jewelry ads with Drew Barrymore and now they hit us with a Cruise 2008 campaign featuring models Natasha Poly and Julien Ferre.

These ads stand out mainly due to the color scheme and the desert setting. The pristine turquoise sky looks beautiful next to the dry sand and rugged concrete. There's an air of desperation in the models' eyes, like they're dehydrated and on the run...yet they still manage to look utterly gorgeous. I especially love the collage style photography. What do you think?
