An Arrested Development Star Launches a Hair Care Line

Venezuelan actress and model Patricia Velásquez has been seen in The Mummy and The L Word, but to me, she'll always be Marta from Arrested Development. She's as funny as she is pretty, and now she's becoming a beauty entrepreneur, too. On Feb. 9, she's officially launching Taya, a hair care collection that incorporates sustainably harvested ingredients from the rain forest.

Patricia looked to her personal heritage in titling the collection. Taya means "I am" in the dialect of the indigenous Wayuú people, whose traditional beauty recipes inspired the formulas. In a statement, she said, "I wanted every person that uses the indigenous botanicals and generational recipes embodied in Taya's formulations to feel the energy of the rain forest, and feel a part of it, and to experience what for me is our source of life, spirit, and replenishment."

Kate Walsh Launches Boyfriend-Inspired Scent

Kate Walsh recently launched her own beauty company, Boyfriend LLC, spawned out of the idea that everyone (well, except for gold-star lesbians) has a boyfriend story to share. For Kate, that story involves a breakup five years ago, after which she realized how much she missed his scent. "So I went to a fragrance counter and bought a men's fragrance and went, 'Wait a minute, you don’t need a boyfriend to have a Boyfriend! Ding ding ding!' Jonathan Adler to Bring Happy Chic to HSN

Jonathan Adler announced plans today to launch a new collection of home décor and accessories, Happy Chic, exclusively for HSN in October. "As with all my designs," Adler said, "Happy Chic is a versatile collection meant to be mixed and matched."

The line will include three signature style concepts, "Pop," "Natural," and "Deluxe," for tabletop, seating, lighting, kitchen, and bath. Pop will boast bright patterns, lacquered finishes, and his signature animal objects. Deluxe will feature polished metal finishes for a glamorous Hollywood-inspired style. And Natural will include organic shapes and Adler's handcrafted pottery.

Adler will debut the collection during HSN's annual Home Design Event on October 12. He'll make a return appearance on October 27, and also debut some new additions again in November.

Me&Ro, Stephen Dweck's Home Shopping Experience

Next to jump on the TV home shopping bandwagon are fine jewelry designers - with baubles retailing up to $5,000 - Robin Renzi from Me&Ro, and Stephen Dweck. Renzi has signed on with HSN to create an affordable collection of adornments, ranging from $30 to $100, called Robin by Me&Ro. The line debuts tomorrow, Tuesday Oct. 20, and will feature Renzi's signature tribal-inspired designs made from brass-plated silver and gold. “I’m excited to bring designs to a broader audience and I want people to hear it from me, what inspires me and why they inspire me,” said Renzi.

Stephen Dweck, known for featuring rare oversize rocks and gemstones in his namesake collection, has been enlisted by QVC to create a collection of diamond-clad jewelry called Dweck Diamonds. “It’s diamonds done in a new way,” said Dweck. “It’s a new way to wear my jewelry.” The line drops Oct. 27. Prices are to be determined.

Lucky Magazine + HSN = Designer Capsule Collection

Lucky magazine and HSN have become fast friends. The two teamed up to create an exclusive capsule collection with seven designers - Shoshanna, Rebecca Taylor, Kooba, Rebecca Minkoff, Tracy Reese, Gerard Yosca, and Helen Ficalora. How are these pieces different from the ones the designers create for their namesake lines? They have the same aesthetic but are way more affordable. "It is so exciting to be partnering with HSN and have these unique, fabulously priced items reach a wider audience and bring Lucky Shops to life in an entirely new way," Lucky's editor in chief Kim France said. The designer capsule collection will be revealed on HSN on Oct. 16 and 17; some pieces are now available on Lucky Shops at HSN.
