The stars were thrilled to be back in the spotlight tonight at the Oscars. A handful were so fired up, in fact, that they gave the red carpet some fierce competition in red hot gowns. Anne Hathaway drenched herself in rosettes via Marchesa, Helen Mirren opted for a deeper red in a Georges Chakra custom-made gown, pop sensation Miley Cyrus oozed sophistication in Valentino, newlywed Katherine Heigl did Old-Hollywood glam in Escada, Julie Christie went short and ruched, and Heidi Klum went va-va-voom in a bright John Galliano (you can even win her dress).

Bling was everywhere tonight! Helen Mirren and Hayden Panettiere had big sparkly brooches adorning their bustlines. If tassels are your thing, look to the Ellens: DeGeneres had a softer version, and Pompeo sported a more defined pair of tassels.

Helen Mirren proves that you don't have to be young to be hot. The actress is simply dazzling in her long purple silk dress. I especially love the brooch detail and her sleek white clutch.

Helen Miren is sure playing the roles of both beauty queen and the Queen of England tonight! She looks amazing in this delicate and nude colored Christian Lacroix evening dress with beading and lace. What do you think?

Is Kate Moss sliding from the graces of fashion? British Harper's Bazaar seems to think so.
The magazine, which releases its best dressed women in Britain 2007 list tomorrow, placed Moss in 10th place this year, even though she topped the list in 2004, came second in 2005, and was third in 2006.
