Hervé Léger is known for body-conscious dresses, but for Fall 2012, the collection included tougher elements such as harnesses and fur accents. Such a bold statement was set off by a high ponytail and minimalist makeup. Here, days before the runway show, we captured the hair and makeup test in process - that's the time when the designer and beauty team decide how the models will look. Every season, designer Max Azria has found a way to reinvent the classic bandage dress that catapulted the Hervé Léger line to fame. For Fall 2012, the silhouette was given an equestrian spin, wrapped in leather body harnesses and wide belts paired with knee-high leather gladiator boots. For Spring 2012, Max Azria showed his signature body-conscious silhouettes, this time re-imagined with textural intrigue and gorgeous tribal accents. Each model hit the runway in her curve-hugging, metallic-foil confection like a soldier - complete with militant-inspired gladiator boots to hint at something tougher, more fierce. While the bandage dress dominated, new textures - weaving, braiding, and fringe - gave way to something more tribal-inspired than Young Hollywood. Striking gold ribbing, metal quills, beads, and jacquard and basket weaving on black, nude, gold, silver tones countered leg-baring slits and cutouts, balancing strength with sex appeal in every look.

Trends: Metallics, fringe, cutouts, textural braiding and weaving.

Colors: White, black, gold, silver.

Last night in Vegas, both music and fashion were at the forefront as celebs took to the red carpet for the annual Billboard Awards. Among the styled arrivals, we spotted Fergie in a bold, Hervé Léger cutout mini, while Nicole Kidman played a mix of casual glamour in an embellished Dolce & Gabbana and looser, side-swept braid. Meanwhile, Rihanna suited up in white-on-white Max Azria menswear, and Selena Gomez showed off a sultrier side in a cutout, black Dolce & Gabbana paired with red Giuseppe Zanotti heels. But it was Taylor Swift that brought the most glamorous of the night's looks, channeling old Hollywood in a sparkling Elie Saab gown, soft waves, and a bright red pout.
