Did you happen to go see Australia this weekend? If
my first words with costume designer Catherine Martin didn't pique your interest maybe these will. Some specific items of clothing stood out to me in the film — notably the colors of Lady Ashley's clothes, her belts, and her red Chinosierie dress.

Baz Luhrmann and his wife Catherine Martin are true geniuses.
Their films are almost too good for people to appreciate. What a disappointment it did not do well at the Box Office. America does not recognize great film work anymore.
GO SEE AUSTRALIA!!!
1I loved this movie so much; it is definitely his best work so far (I know that isn't saying much since Moulin Rouge and Romeo + Juliet are terrible movies - sorry to any fans - but it really is spectacularly made). every component of the movie is exceptional, from the stunning cinematography (always Baz Luhman's saving grace) to the acting, directing, and chemistry. it does have some very cheesy moments; I don't think it could be a Luhrman movie without them; and they never take away from the remarkability of the rest of the film.
2Nicole Kidman's wardrobe iss definitely the star of the film (other than Hugh's yumminess). the two Oriental dresses were definitely fabulous, but my favorite outfit was actually the blue and white suit she was wearing when she first arrived.
whatever anyone's opinion, though, go see this movie, IN THEATRES, because if anything else it is a feast for the eyes and very entertaining...
