Isaac Mizrahi Set to Launch Shoes, Bags, and Jewelry

Isaac Mizrahi is known for his effortless, quintessential American style, and the latest news flash is giving us even more reason to love him. Launching Fall '12, the brand will expand its line with shoes, bags, small leather goods, watches, and jewelry all priced from $38 to $348. Mizrahi's footwear collection, is set to kick off the launch into accessories. “To us, Isaac Mizrahi is a great American designer, and we love his sense of humor, and the fact that he’s timeless but still very modern. I love his pretty and polished aesthetic, and there’s some great things we can do with his footwear,” said Marc Fisher Footwear's president Susan Itzkowitz, Mizrahi's footwear licensee. Details are still under wraps, but we're hoping to see some cute footwear to go with the brand's fun, polished ladylike clothing.

Isaac Mizrahi is bringing his couture skills to the wedding gown with a series of six sophisticated gowns exclusive to wedding site The Aisle. The gowns, which will range in price from $2,200-$4,500 will be available to The Aisle New York members starting tomorrow (this might be a good time to sign up if you're a bride-to-be) for a six-month period. For those who want their gown to fit perfectly - which is everyone - the collection will be available custom made-to-measure and delivered to you within two weeks. For the eighth and final day of Fashion Week, we're eying glam, red-carpet worthy gowns, edgy cool separates, and leather - lots of leather. We get a dose of ladylike dressing in candy-colors from Isaac Mizrahi, minimalist-perfection from Calvin, and evening gowns begging for a turn at the Oscars, courtesy of Ralph Lauren. 2011 Fall New York Fashion Week: Isaac Mizrahi

You know it's going to be a good time at the show when a) you're greeted by a cute waiter offering slices of chocolate cake, and b) among the show notes, it credits "Dog Grooming: The Salty Paw." This is the world of Isaac, man of endless charisma and good humor, who can present zippy, fresh womenswear with a wink and a little dose of kitsch. First, a word on colors: candy pink, lavender, citrus orange, and sky blue dominated, along with two oversized floral prints. Now the dogs: mini poodles literally wore a technicolor coat, dyed to match their model masters. If you could tear your eyes away from the entertaining spectacle, you could enjoy the clothes, which were fresh and a bit retro, referencing a halcyon world of ladies who lunch with their dogs by their feet and have glamorous events by night. The highlights - a citrus dress with a slim black v-neck and a seafoam green maxi skirt under a long black turtleneck sweater - showed Isaac's knack for mixing fancy and casual. Ice skater Johnny Weir, watching from the front row while draped in a seafoam green fur jacket and jeans, looked like he had gotten just that kind of styling lesson from Isaac.

Trends: Floral prints, maxi skirts, candy color, retro femininity.
Colors: Pink, lavender, sky blue, citrus, black, gray.
Key Looks: A black turtleneck sweater layered over a seafoam green skirt.
Accessories: Dyed-to-match poodles - not seriously, of course.
Who Would Wear It: While we love Johnny Weir, we think young celebs like Emma Roberts should embrace Isaac's gowns for the red carpet.

The Fashion Show Premieres Tonight - Will You Tune In?

If you've watched Bravo lately, you've most likely seen the overly dramatic commercials for Iman and Isaac Mizrahi's new show, The Fashion Show: Ultimate Collection. Actually, this is season two of The Fashion Show with Isaac and singer Kelly Rowland. Remember that one? But there's a brand-new twist this time around: 12 expert designers will be split into two fashion houses, and each house will work together to produce an entire fashion show every week. By that I mean, not only will they be designing the clothes, but also the set, lighting, and music. Harper's Bazaar's Laura Brown will also serve on the panel. Does this new show - debuting tonight at 10 p.m. on Bravo - intrigue you?

2010 Fall NYFW Trend: Green Machine

Circa '99, green was my favorite color, so I was elated to see the earthy tone back in action on the Fall '10 runways. During New York Fashion Week, a mass resurrection of green in every color variation - forest, olive, chartreuse, apple, and hunter green - spawned decadent beaded gowns, tailored blazers, and my fave, anoraks. A classic color reinvented? We seem to think so.

Sneak Peek! Isaac Mizrahi Live at QVC

Isaac Mizrahi is Mr. QVC these days. Isaac Mizrahi Live, which debuts Dec. 4, just released some of its multicategory goodies. Studded berets, sequin tees, toggle coats, and bright handbags, all retailing from $32 to $300, are some of the offerings. Also on the menu is tartan-printed cheesecake. You hear that, Yum?

“I love my product. I believe in my product. If I do plates, if I do bedding, which I did, if I render cookies, I do it in the same way that I think about a couture dress," Isaac said. The designer is quickly becoming the jack of all trades. "As I build my brand, I think about Martha Stewart and her very upward trajectory. She has always been a great inspiration to me." Fabulous.
