Multitasking Media Through the Wormhole

Be it a work or personal computer, the task of transferring large media from one computer is usually much more complicated than the simplicity of the request. Two products from technology accessories company j5create promise to make file exchange as simple as a trip down a wormhole. A recipient of a CES 2012 Innovation Award, the Wormhole Station is a laptop docking station that shares the keyboard and mice functions across two computers simultaneously for drag-and-drop file transfers at superfast 5Gbps speed, which the company claims is about 160 songs per second. It includes outlets for USB 3.0 and memory card readers so that media from other devices is just as easily shareable among two desktops.

Should computer-to-computer file transferring be more of an occasional need - updating mom's iPhoto with pictures of the annual family vacation stored on your computer, for instance - opt for the Wormhole Switch. The single USB cable shares files of up to 480Mbps across laptops, desktop computers, Android devices, and iOS devices; no extra software needed.

The Wormhole Station is $130, and the Wormhole cables range in price between $25 for a PC-to-PC set, $30 for PC-to-Android, and $35 for Mac compatibility. Does Wormhole sound like an easier solution to the common flash drive or external hard drive or the how-do-I-share-content dilemma?

Acer introduced three new ultrabooks at its CES press conference today (two sizes of the Timeline Ultra and the "world's thinnest ultrabook," the S5), and chairman and CEO J.T. Wong made it clear that the company has no intentions of slowing down. According to Wong, Acer is expected to introduce many more ultrabooks over the next two years with a goal of 25 to 35 percent of its laptop lineup being of the thin and light variety.

The 2011 American Music Awards kicked off with a duet from Nicki Minaj and DJ David Guetta, the first of 17 musical acts! They got things started after a star-studded AMAs red carpet on which stars like Katy Perry, Heidi Klum, Justin Bieber, and Selena Gomez posed for photographers. Maroon 5 was an early winner for best duo/group before Taylor Swift won her fourth favorite country female artist in a row.

Next up was a performance from Justin Bieber, who sang "Under the Mistletoe" while girlfriend Selena Gomez watched from the audience. Jennifer Hudson changed dresses to introduce favorite rap/hip-hop artist Nicki Minaj, who also tearfully took home favorite rap/hip-hop album honors for Pink Friday. Rihanna sent in a video thank-you for her favorite soul/R&B album nod, and Beyoncé Knowles did the same when accepting favorite soul/R&B female artist. Beyoncé couldn't attend the show since she was in the Big Apple promoting her new Live at Roseland DVD. Kelly Clarkson and Enrique Iglesias, with the help of Ludacris, were onstage for two subsequent performances. J Lo really brought the house down with a rendition of "Move Your Body" and "On the Floor" that included an actual Fiat as a prop - she has an endorsement deal with the car company! Pitbull sang with J Lo, and also later joined her estranged husband Marc Anthony and Lil Jon for a song.

Heidi Klum rocked her silver Giles Deacon to introduce an artist she and her family love, Katy Perry. Katy received an award of achievement for the five number one hits she's racked up this year. J Lo was next to take the podium as favorite Latin artist of the year, commenting on her "exciting and overwhelming" 2011. Christina Aguilera made a special appearance to sing with Maroon 5, and then Drake took the stage following an introduction from John Legend. Katherine Heigl and her husband Josh Kelley teamed up to present Taylor Swift with her ninth AMA, this time for favorite country album. She didn't have to wait long for the 10th, since Taylor also won artist of the year! Justin Bieber helped LMFAO wrap up the proceedings, and came out to do the shuffle during "Party Rock Anthem!"

Carey, Tobey, and Leo Show Off Their Best Gatsby Looks in Sydney

Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, and Carey Mulligan were in their '20s finest today to shoot The Great Gatsby at Sydney's Centennial Park. The three stars have been in Australia for the last few months working on the Baz Luhrmann adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic book, though Carey broke from the Oz set to do a recent bit of press in the UK for her movie Shame. While in London, she visited The Graham Norton Show and chatted about her costar Leo's dancing abilities. She said Leo, "claims not to be able to dance . . . [but] I know he can, because I saw him dance in Titanic." Leo has also traveled abroad to chat up his movie J. Edgar, which has suffered from some less-than-stellar reviews. He was in NYC last week when he turned 37, and the lucky actor was able to celebrate the milestone in the company of multiple Victoria's Secret Angels.

Reese Joins Country's Biggest Stars and Taylor Makes History at CMA Awards in Nashville

Reese Witherspoon was pretty in pink as she stepped on stage to present at last night's CMA Awards in Nashville. The movie star was in the company of country music's biggest names, which of course include Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood. For the red carpet Taylor Swift wore a strapless J. Mendel, Carrie Underwood was in Reem Acra, and Ginnifer Goodwin was in Prabal Gurung. Taylor performed her new love song "Ours" during the show, and she also took home the biggest honor of the evening, Entertainer of the Year. Taylor also won that award in 2009, making her the second woman to earn it twice. Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley played cohosts for the third year in a row and once again showed off their funny chemistry on stage.

Reese wasn't the only Oscar-winning actress in the house, since Nicole Kidman was there on the arm of her husband Keith Urban. Faith Hill hit the red carpet in a stunning white Chado Ralph Rucci gown with Tim McGraw by her side. Poppy King Designs a Lipstick Line For Boots No7

With a successful lipstick line under her belt, as well as collaborations with Kate Spade and J.Crew, Poppy King is reminding us why she calls herself the Lipstick Queen. This month, Boots No7 will release a collection - The Magic of Lipstick - which King created for the company. Almost a year in the making, it consists of seven lipsticks and seven matching glosses. "The texture is moisturizing, yet has traction," King explains.

King, who has been a fan of Boots No7 for years, says she discovered the brand during her travels to London. While designing the line, King went through the company's archives, drawing much of her inspiration from the 1930s. "I wanted to use the silver that was on the Boots packaging then, and the shape and styling of the number '7' reminiscent of the '30s," she said. She also hoped to capture the era's enthusiasm for lip color. "I wanted to ease women back into lipstick - the Boots' customer needs something that works, something that is elegant, and something that is low maintenance." Leonardo DiCaprio spent the weekend in Sydney hanging with friends and yesterday enjoyed the company of another beautiful woman. Leo and the mystery brunette were spotted early in the morning on the balcony of his Australian hotel and later in the day grabbing lunch outside a Sydney beach cafe. Leo's been in Oz for the past two months filming The Great Gatsby with Carey Mulligan and Tobey Maguire, while back in the States his ex Blake Lively is also moving on with a new romance. Blake spent the weekend with Ryan Reynolds in Boston and celebrated his 35th birthday by surprising him on the set of R.I.P.D. with an elaborate balloon bouquet. Leo's time Down Under may be coming to an end as he's expected to return to LA for the Nov. 3 AFI Fest premiere of his historical biopic J. Edgar.
