2009 Primetime Emmy Awards Trend: Romanza

Romanza was in the air last night at the Emmys as the majority of Hollywood's leading ladies showed off their soft side in swirling ruffles, cascading tulle, sweet lace, soft chiffon, and decadent draping. Such romantic dresses are a popular choice on the red carpet and I can see why. They evoke instant femininity and appeal to both guys and dolls. Jennifer Love Hewitt told the E! hosts she loves Carolina Herrera so it's no surprise that she picked a dress by the designer for tonight. It's black, it's white, it's strapless, it's flowy. A diamond lariat necklace and diamond stud earrings add shine. Is it too prom or just perfect?

J. Love sticks to the tried-and-true on this one: her signature tousled curls paired with a long black dress. The Reem Acrea dress reminds me a little bit of a prom dress, with the full skirt and strapless beaded top. Overall, she just looks typical J. Love on the red carpet to me! How about you?
