Who knew that swiss cheese could be luxe? Nantucket-based jewelry designer Jessica Hicks did. She allowed her husband to name her Lorraine jewelry line after Lorraine swiss cheese, because all the piercing and holes in her pieces reminded him of it.

Her actual jewelry inspiration lies outside the realm of cheese; rather, she finds solace in the shape of a leaf or the outline of a giraffe print. She is, however, fascinated by holes, and loves the fact that you can see through her jewelry. There must be something to that notion, because Jessica has garnered herself fans in SJP, Jessica Alba, Eva Longoria...and me too!

Nicole Richie Gets Ready For Fashion Star's Premiere With a Party

Nicole Richie was the guest of honor at a dinner celebrating Fashion Star at Miss Lily's in NYC last night. She wore a simple black and white skirt and top for the occasion, which was hosted by Glamour's Cindi Leive and Fashion Star's executive producer and creator Ben Silverman. The reality design competition premieres tonight on NBC and Nicole's been making the rounds to promote the project with a stop on the Today show this morning alongside fellow mentors John Varvatos and Elle Macpherson. Jessica Simpson, meanwhile, took care of press on the West Coast with appearances on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and The Tonight Show. Jessica shared she has weeks to go until her due date, but added that she's already experiencing Braxton Hicks contractions.

The expectant mama, who appeared on The Tonight Show yesterday to promote her new Fashion Star series, told Jay Leno that she's not due as soon as she wishes and that she's had several middle-of-the-night scares that turned out to be Braxton-Hicks contractions. Jess shared her thoughts on prenatal dressing ("I'm wearing six-inch heels today, and it's a lot of weight to carry on six inches."), her naked cover for Elle (she went behind her dad's back to do it), and her latest craving (slutty brownies). How to Look Like a Celeb at Your Own Pregnancy Photo Shoot

Jessica Simpson did it well. So did Demi, Britney, and Cindy, but could you pull off a naked pregnant photo shoot? Absolutely, as long as you follow the tips we scored from Chicago photographer Maria Ponce, who's turned shooting pregnant noncelebrities into a beautiful art form.

I was lucky enough to score a session with Maria during my pregnancy (that's me, seven months pregnant with my daughter, on the right). At first, I was skeptical about the idea. Did I really want to commemorate my pregnancy experience? I had gained almost 40 pounds, had pregnancy acne, and felt terrible - why would I want a permanent record of that? But Maria talked me through the shoot, and in the end, it ended up being one of the best experiences of my pregnancy. Seeing my big-bellied self through Maria's lens made me feel like one of those powerful, beautiful pregnant women - not like the schlumpy, yoga-pant wearing, miserable prego who could barely walk around the block without Braxton Hicks contractions forcing me home that I really was.

Now, a year after giving birth, I've (almost) forgotten about how huge and uncomfortable I felt, and I'm happily left with those superwoman photos, which are just inspiring enough to tempt me to do it all over again. I highly recommend a pregnancy photo shoot, and Maria has some great tips on how to make it a success.
