I can't help but think that Julia Roberts looks too mature in her Giorgio Armani beaded dress. I know she's not in her twenties anymore, but I would have preferred a less mother-of-the-bride silhouette on her. Sorry Mr. Armani. But I still love that killer smile. What do you think?

Fab Flash: Katie Holmes and More Costume Institute Gala Attendees Revealed!

We already learned that Fergie and Liv Tyler are attending as guests of Calvin Klein, and Tilda Swinton is accompanying Prada, but as the Costume Institute gala fast approaches on May 5, more details have leaked.

Giorgio Armani is said to be dressing Julia Roberts, George Clooney, Tom Cruise, and Katie Holmes, but it doesn't stop there. Rumor has it that Jennifer Lopez is coming with Alberta Ferretti, Kate Bosworth with Chanel, and Eva Mendes and Rachel Bilson are also attending with Calvin Klein.

They haven't been connected to specific designers yet, but other expected attendees include Renée Zellweger, Scarlett Johansson, Kate Moss, Mary J. Blige, Claire Danes, Mischa Barton, LeBron James, as well as designers Valentino, Tom Ford, Domenico Dolce, Stefano Gabbana, and Donatella Versace.

2008 Oscars Fashion Preview: Expect Color, Ruffles and Beautiful Beading!

Witnessing the Oscars red carpet is one of my favorite fashion moments all year. We'll have to wait until Sunday to see who wears what, but until then, I've got a sneak peek to hold you over. Oscar fashion coordinator Patty Fox put together an Academy Awards fashion preview, highlighting the vivid colors and sparkling jewels that are expected to rule the red carpet this year.

Partnering with glam Oscar-worthy designers like Giorgio Armani, Valentino, Oscar de la Renta, Elie Saab, and Marchesa, Fox showcased gowns that spoke to the style of past Academy Awards winners: for Charlize Theron, a ruched tangerine Pamella Roland number, for Julia Roberts, a one-shouldered red chiffon Valentino gown, and for Renee Zellweger, a gold strapless Angel Sanchez dress.

Meanwhile, earlier this week I put together my own Oscar red carpet wish list - I'm biased, but I think mine's better!

Best Dressed Ladies of Oscars Past

The Academy Awards come and go, but only a handful of celebrities remain on fashion-loving minds. The way I see it, this is the chance for stars to shine, so I've got no love for those who dim in the spotlight. Whether it be a bold color, a shocking silhouette, or breathtaking bling, all these ladies have stepped up to the Oscars plate. In no particular order - although Emily Blunt stole my heart in Calvin Klein at the Oscars last year - I present to you my best-dressed list of Oscars past . . . Ready for the Oscars? Fab Flash: Superheroes at the 2008 Costume Institute Exhibit

The Metropolitan Museum of Art has chosen "Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy" as the theme of its Spring exhibit. The museum plans to explore the superhero's iconic costume of cape, mask, and bodysuit as it has appeared in fashion. The exhibit, which is co-chaired by Giorgio Armani, George Clooney, Julia Roberts, and Vogue editor Anna Wintour, will run from May 7 to September 1, and the accompanying gala, known as the Oscars of the fashion industry, will be hosted on May 5.

Approximately 70 ensembles will be featured, from high-performance sportswear and iconic movie costumes to avant-garde couture looks spanning the decades, all inspired by Catwoman, Wonder Woman, the X-Men, and more. Designers represented include everyone from Balenciaga, Armani, and Alexander McQueen to Jeremy Scott, Pierre Cardin, and Nike.

Trend Alert: Over-the-Knee Boots

I've never been a huge fan of over-the-knee boots, but seeing Jenna Dewan in her maroon pair convinced me otherwise. See, I used to think thigh-highs were cheesy - cue Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman - but the key to getting this look right is styling it with not so '80s clothes. I suggest girlie floral frocks, like Jenna's, for an upscale Woodstock vibe, or paired with a lean wool mini, tights, and trench for a ultra-modern Fall look.

Marie Chavez was created in 1999 by Julie Marie Chavez. Her delicate and intricately designed collection of necklaces, earrings, and bracelets are beautiful and made to last a lifetime. Chavez states, "I want my jewelry to outlast seasons and trends, and I want women with different tastes to be able to find pieces in my collection that they can wear for years to come."

People must agree - her client list includes Anne Hathaway, Julia Roberts, Rosario Dawson, and Jennifer Garner!

I've got a serious soft spot for beautiful people - ahem, Julia Stegner, Malgosia and Javier de Miguel - lounging around in gorgeous clothes surrounded by moody shadows. Remember Valentino's Robert Palmer-esque Fall ads? Loved 'em. With a new design team on tap, Tommaso Aquilano and Roberto Rimondi of 6267, I expect we'll be seeing more fabulousness from this Italian fashion house. Don't you wish you could just lounge around with these folks? All the limbs, flowing hair, dark clothes and strong accessories are super seductive. The images were supposed to convey a '40s scenario, but I see something set more in the power-fueled '80s. Do you want to join this lounge party?

Fab Blab: Emma Roberts Talks Chanel

The Chanel fun never ends. As well as catching up with Mad Men star January Jones I met cutie patootie Emma Roberts at the Chanel on Robertson party. She looked darling in a vibrant printed jersey dress, as well as 18K yellow gold hoop earrings and bracelet from the Fine Jewelry collection. Niece of mega star Julia, Emma was excited about her upcoming projects and a cheeky Chanel purse she spotted at the store. Here, she blabs with yours truly.

"I have a movie called Wild Child coming out at the end of the year, it’s a really fun teen movie, kinda Mean Girlsish. And in January I have Hotel for Dogs coming out, a family movie, yeah, it’s exciting. My dress is Chanel, of course, and I just saw it and loved it - it was the first one I tried on. And I never wear color! Chanel is classy, amazing and my favorite. I have a few Chanel items but my black Chanel handbag is my favorite. I really liked the British flag purse [here at the store] so hopefully I'll get that."

Emma was adorable, to say the least. We're looking forward to seeing more of her in the future!

Karolina Kurkova On Life After a $13 Mil Diamond Bra

She started out as the face of Prada at 16 and moved on to front Chanel, YSL, and Gucci campaigns. Most recently, we've seen Karolina Kurkova on the Victoria's Secret runway, where two years ago she wore a $13 million diamond bra.

But KK took some time off from her Victoria's Secret duties to pose for the February Elle UK cover where she reveals that she's nicknamed Karolina Coca-Cola, and gives us the dirt on what else she's been up to. Here are the highlights:

On throwing mobile phones at assistants, Naomi Campbell-style: "I don't even have an assistant! And I don't tend to beat people up!"
On her 2007 movie debut: "My Sexiest Year is set 1970s Florida. I play a character who's a stereotype of a supermodel. I took what I'd learned from watching people through the years and I had fun with it. My character is very sarcastic."
On model-actresses: "Lots of great actresses began as models . . . Cameron Diaz, Julia Roberts, Grace Kelly. And the two jobs complement each other. Modeling makes you aware of your body and face, the light, the clothing. It helps you start to get into character."
