Jack White and Wife Throw Divorce Party Together

Divorce parties are nothing new, but what about throwing one with your soon-to-be ex? Former White Stripes front man Jack White and wife Karen Elson are doing just that! The couple sent out an invitation (see above) that could easily be mistaken for a wedding invitation if you didn't read the fine print: "Karen Elson + Jack White kindly request the presence of . . . at a party to celebrate their 6th anniversary, and their upcoming divorce with a positive swing bang hum dinger."

While my first reaction was that the event would just be too awkward for friends and family to go through, in their statement about the party it's clear they are doing it to have healthy, positive closure for the sake of their children. What do you think about throwing a party with your ex to celebrate the end of your relationship?

Supermodel Karen Elson Designing Collection For Nine West

Karen Elson, supermodel, singer, songwriter, wife to White Stripes singer Jack White, and mother of two, can now add designer to her impressive resume. She is collaborating with Nine West on a Fall 2011 collection of accessories for its Vintage America line, according to WWD. While we've only seen sketches of her designs, it's said to be based on her vintage-inspired style, and we immediately thought of two editorials where Elson's style was most prominent: a Nylon shoot last June that was shot by her twin sister Kate and a Vogue shoot, shot by Annie Leibowitz, featuring her and Jack White together. Both show her love of vintage femininity and, while the model is British not American, we can see the connection to vintage Americana. Tonight's Met Gala theme was Savage Beauty, honoring the late Alexander McQueen, so it was fitting that some of McQueen's closest friends and fans donned his designs on the red carpet. Models and celebrities, like Gisele Bundchen, Daphne Guinness, and Naomi Campbell all showed off different looks from McQueen's past collections. Each and every look took us back to McQueen and all of the greatness he created during his lifetime - check out the slideshow to see who wore what and why we loved it.

Karen Elson, siren-haired model, musician, mother of two and wife of fellow musician Jack White was photographed at the Chanel dinner in honor of Blake Lively during Paris Fashion Week. We love how she pairs the structured classic Chanel boucle jacket with a free-flowing long dress that is so NOW. The patterns clash, the textures clash, and that's what makes it so, well, cool. Such was the case last night when Rachel Zoe, Rosario Dawson, Ginnifer Goodwin, Amber Valletta, Natalia Vodianova, and so many more of our Fab favorites turned out in style to toast the designer's newest LA store. Fab Ad: Balenciaga Goes Intense, Fall '10

While the Spring '10 Balenciaga ads were trippy, Fall's are super intense. They all feature the same format - single shot on the right, group shot to the left - but each has its appeal. I'm most excited to see '90s Brit model Stella Tennant (far right), who joins the gang, including Freja Beha Erichsen, Karen Elson, Caroline Brasch-Nielsen, Stella Meghan Collison, Mirte Maas, Valerija Kelava, and Kirsi Pyrhonen. The dusk-like background and the models' solemn expressions make for one seriously stoic ad campaign. Do you approve?

Fab Ad: Louis Vuitton, Fall '10

If you thought Lara Stone's Spring Louis Vuitton ads were dreamy, wake up. The brand chose a precision cast of models, spanning generations, for its latest campaign. Christy Turlington, Karen Elson, and Natalia Vodianova are calmly coiffing in an old-school dressing room, each one thoroughly gorgeous in prim ponies, ladylike dresses, and luxe leather. The mood is serene and stylish and, notice, ample bosom plays a supporting role. According to Antoine Arnault, Vuitton’s director of communications, "The atmosphere was very Fifties, very elegant." Shot by Steven Meisel, the period set was constructed in a New York studio. Simple, yet stunning. Agreed?
