It was a busy week on Twitter - our fashionable favorites were caught up in the thrill of the Oscars and Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks, making for some very fun photos. Busy Philipps and Michelle Williams sat pretty together during the awards ceremony, Margherita Missoni and Coco Rocha took in the sights in Milan, and we caught up with Karlie Kloss and Kanye West partying in the City of Lights. It's no surprise we've deemed Karlie Kloss one of our stylish model MVPs. Her ever-growing list of red-carpet appearances, cool street-style snapshots, and dramatic turns on the runway make her a no-brainer for style-setting honors. Let's recap. The 19-year-old catwalking stunner has already graced the covers of Vogue Italia, Teen Vogue, Vogue Australia, and more. She has opened and closed the Christian Dior Couture show, received her Victoria's Secret angel wings, currently stars as the glamorous face of Oscar de la Renta's Spring '12 ad campaign, and just so happens to be BFFs with designer Jason Wu. Needless to say, Karlie's fashion-entrenched life has influenced and inspired her personal style - from super-chic Winter layers and sexy cutout gowns to ethereal floral dresses paired with moto-inspired leather jackets, she knows how to work it off duty, too. Best of 2011: Hottest Model of the Year

We've already kicked off our Best of 2011 coverage with the most talked about accessories of the year, and now we're moving on with the hottest models of the year. There were four catwalkers that caught our attention this year: Arizona Muse was everywhere, opening and closing runways shows at Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi, and Chanel Couture, to name a few. She also became the face of Prada and Yves Saint Laurent and also graced the covers of Vogue Italia, Dazed & Confused, and Numero. Miranda Kerr walked the runways of Balenciaga in March, just mere months after giving birth to her baby boy, Flynn - and hit Dior, Lanvin, and the Victoria's Secret catwalks this year as well. Kate Moss had a huge year too; the model closed both of Marc Jacobs's Fashion Week shows, designed her final collection for Topshop, and biggest of all, got married to The Kills' front man, Jamie Hince, in a romantic ceremony in the English countryside. Last but certainly not least, Karlie Kloss opened the Christian Dior Couture show in Paris, served as the gorgeous face of Oscar de la Renta, and even got her wings - the model walked in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show for the first time just weeks ago. Karlie Kloss: What It's Like to Go Between High Fashion and High School

Model Karlie Kloss wore a Dior dress to her prom back in St. Louis, MO. The 19-year-old is an established star in the modeling world, but until she graduated this past Spring, she'd been going back and forth from the fantasy world of fashion to the life of a Midwestern high school kid. LIFE.com and photographer Gabrielle Revere followed Karlie backstage to Paris couture week, back to her childhood bedroom, and around New York City for a special Fashion Week feature.

The magazine notes that while she's landed coveted campaigns and worked all over the world, Karlie still brings homemade cookies to the crew at photo shoots and travels to see her parents and three sisters whenever possible. Of trying to balance her two lives, Karlie explains, "For the last four years, when I'm not working I've been on the first flight home to St. Louis - back in school, nose in the books, or catching up with friends and getting caught up on who's got boyfriends, who's broken up with who, all the silly high school drama that is just part of the experience." Speaking of young-love drama, Karlie's denied dating Joe Jonas.

Unlike recent high school grads, though, Karlie has the pressure of a full-time international career. Based on what she told LIFE, she's up for it: "You're kind of like a chameleon - you take on the energy and the spirit of the collection and the show, and you get to become part of the designer's vision. It's actually a big responsibility. It's a special honor."

Today during New York Fashion Week festivities at Lincoln Center, fashionistas can pick up a special print edition of LIFE, which includes the feature and 34 images of Karlie. Here's a sneak peek, including a look at her prom dress.
