Romanza was in the air last night at the Emmys as the majority of Hollywood's leading ladies showed off their soft side in swirling ruffles, cascading tulle, sweet lace, soft chiffon, and decadent draping. Such romantic dresses are a popular choice on the red carpet and I can see why. They evoke instant femininity and appeal to both guys and dolls. Case in point is Drew Barrymore in a soft peach confection by Monique Lhuillier - isn't she a sight of pure adoration? Check out the rest of my enamored looks . . .

Kate Walsh attended the Emmys wearing a gorgeous gray J.Mendel Grecian-inspired gown. I adore the draping detail and sweetheart bustline - so romantic. Intricate gold earrings and a matching bangle complete her ensemble. And, as the actress pointed out, her look is also affordable chic - she carried a silver Aldo clutch. Do you love it or hate it?

Trend Alert: Secret Sequins

There's this theory that sequins can be too flashy and thus trashy. If a glimmering Alexander McQueen head-to-toe bodysuit is freaky to you, secret sequins may strike your fancy. Kate Walsh donned Stella McCartney's nude tank with gray ombre jeans and she looks friggin' fantastic. And we weren't even there. I'd imagine the sparkles radiated in the Monte Carlo sun. Ever so subtly, though, that's the secret.

2008 Emmy Awards Trend Alert: Dripping With Beading

Lavishly beaded dresses are no strangers to the red carpet. Nevertheless, their gorgeousness paid us many visits at the 2008 Primetime Emmy Awards. Whether on neutral, black, or white dresses, sparkly beads and crystals made the carpet a much more luminous place tonight. Case in point: Kyra Sedgwick in L'Wren Scott (left). Without the bead detailing, the dress would simply be a plain white dress. Gasp! Beading also appeared on asymmetrical straps, cap sleeves, trains, and sprinkled all over. See who else was dripping with beading.

There's not doubt in my mind Kate Walsh is a vixen. Obviously she knows she is too! While this form-fitting bustier and pencil skirt duo is totally figure flattering I'm just not sure I love it. But those T-strap Loubs certainly win me over. Love it or hate it?!

Kate Walsh wore a sophisticated tweed top while getting gas a couple days ago - a bit dressy for the gas station but I'm not complaining! What especially appealed to me was the cowl neck and crossover pleat. It's luxurious, unlike anything we've seen, and it's Marie Marie's Empire Top, $398. Put some fun in Fall by adding this piece to your autumnal wardrobe.

There's a reason these lovely actresses traveled back in time for their Emmy fashion inspiration: because a gal can never go wrong with some Old Hollywood Glamour. Marcia Cross, Katherine Heigl, Kate Walsh, Heidi Klum, Jaime Pressly and Rebecca Romijn all went the glam route, but they each took very different roads to get there. Marcia, Katherine and Rebecca went simple and chic with neutral hues, while Heidi and Kate went va-va-voom in red. Jamie took the road less traveled with a black swirly sequins. But in the end, all roads led to Hollywood!
