The question is: Should you use a liquid luminizer or the powder stuff to get the best results? It turns out, both come with varying benefits. One Star, 3 Makeup Looks: Rachel McAdams at Cannes

There's no denying Rachel McAdams has been looking as beautiful as ever during her various 2011 Cannes Film Festival appearances. Good, clean living plays a part (as well as some enviable genetics), but it's also thanks to the work of her talented makeup artist (and sister), Kayleen McAdams. Learn how Kayleen created three of Rachel's Cannes red-carpet looks below:

"For the Midnight in Paris photo call, the dress was very youthful and fun. We knew we were focusing on the eyes and skin for the premiere [later that day], so we chose to do a bright fun lip," said Kayleen.

Eyes: Kayleen applied Nars Duo Eye Shadow in Silk Road (a palette of pink and rose-gold shades) to Rachel's eyes and topped off her lashes with CoverGirl LashBlast Fusion in Very Black.
Cheeks and lips: Nars Blush in Mata Hari gave a bright, rosy cheek, and Stila Convertible Color in Fuchsia provided the finishing touch.

Found! Rooney Mara's Gorgeous, Just-Bitten Lipstick Shade

With her perfectly creamy skin, piercing eyes, and ebony strands, Rooney Mara looked almost like a present-day rendition of a Robert Palmer girl at yesterday's The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo premiere. But whereas Palmer's muses wore patent-red lipstick and heavy-handed blush and foundation, Mara's look was clean, fresh, and surprisingly simple to re-create.

"The dress was so magnificent, we just decided that she needed to look effortless, and that the lip should look 'bitten,'" explained Chanel celebrity makeup artist Kate Lee. To bring the concept to life, Lee applied the brand's Rouge Allure Velvet Lip Colour in La Somptueuse ($32), a brownish-red, as a stain. The apples of the cheeks were given a creamy glow with Kevyn Aucoin's Tresbelle blush, and black eyeliner and mascara - no eye shadow was used at all - completed the modern-classic palette.
