Trend Alert: Stud-tastic Tees

While I have a soft spot for sequins, I'll admit, on occasion, their shimmer can border on overkill. That's where stud-tastic tees come in. Just the way they do on Katharine McPhee's Alice + Olivia tee, studs add a little - but not too much - embellishment. They're less festive and a little more cool. But, if you'd like to tone down the rocker vibe, just pair with other textures and under layers, like Katherine's wool blazer. And, when you want to amp up the look, try a pair of black denim and let the studs be the standout.

We got a quick look at House of Harlow's Spring '10 footwear collection back in October when the news was released. Now the Navajo-inspired shoes have reached Kitson, though they're on pre-order, with an end-of-February delivery date. There's something for every Nicole Richie fan - sky high pumps, heeled sandals, flats, flat sandals, boots, and moccasins. Here is a standout, this Snakeskin Pump ($225). Confession: I adore slightly cheesy, totally fabulous sequin totes. Who doesn't appreciate a little bling on the beach? Or, at the grocery store. Just because the holidays are over doesn't mean sequins are - they're always welcome in my world. I was once gifted a white cloth tote with silver sequins, and I get compliments at the beach and beyond - imagine the sun's reflection on each and every shimmering sequin. A few days before the November ETA, Nicole Richie's costume jewelry line has been released to Kitson LA. And the pieces are cool. With an Egyptian feel, gold, silver, and enamel bangles rule the offerings. The big black and gold ring Nicole has been modeling is there too, for a keen $38. Did I not mention the price is right? Most pieces are below $70, except for this large black and gold cuff, which is on pre-order for $125. A fine beginning to what I'm sure will be a sparkling endeavor.

The first few pieces of the collection have been released and are currently on sale at Kitson.
