When we think of leather, images of badass Kate Moss or Julia Restoin-Roitfeld spring to mind - but not this time. Fab reader frillsandruffles showed us the softer side of leather today, wearing a sweet ruffled leather skirt paired with a blush pink blouse and heels. We love how it emotes just the right amount of toughness, with a whole lot of sweetness to boot.

Look of the Day: Less Is More

As soon as I laid eyes on this look from Fab reader Katnani, I was smitten. Her minimalistic take on the leather skirt trend is so chic and avant-garde – I could easily picture it in the pages of a glossy. I especially love that she decided to forego any additional accessories, and focus solely on her quilted skirt, white button-up blouse, and slouchy open-toe booties. Great less is more approach to this rock 'n' roll trend.

Trend Alert: Colored Leather Skirts

There's a reason Kate Bosworth is one of our favorite celeb style icons. Her taste in clothes is exquisite, and she always manages to turn a simple classic into a refreshing new trend. While heading into a New York hotel, the actress flashed a sunny smile wearing a crisp white shirt, black pumps, and eye-catching colored leather skirt. The latter gives her sophisticated ensemb the ultimate exotic luxe touch. I know, you probably already own a black version, but aren't these jewel-toned renditions so enticing? Here's a tip: instead of spending the big buckaroos at high-end retailers, I suggest perusing the racks at your local thrift shop for the ultimate vintage find. I'll see you in aisle three . . .

Celebrity Style Double Whammy: Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway

Today, we're mixing things up with a double whammy. Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway looked stellar together at the Bridewars photo call in Berlin. They're both wearing dark ensembles but are showing off very different styles.

Kate opted for more va-va-voom by wearing a leather Temperley London pencil skirt, silk ruffled top, and black patent peep toe pumps. For accessories, the actress decked on gold hoop earrings, a fat cocktail ring, and layered Jennifer Meyer chains.

On the flip side, Anne exuded casual glam in mixed metal adornments - including Sara Weinstock bracelets and $4,900 Garrard wing earrings - a black wrap-around sweater, J Brand skinny jeans, and patent booties. I love them both, what about you?

This Week's Fab Favorite: Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen

A while ago I said I hated taupe. Times change. I especially thought it wasn't a flattering color on blondes. Put two adorably stylish blond twins in taupe together and you have this week's Fab favorite. Mary-Kate and Ashley have been about town(s) promoting their book Influence. This week they were autographing books at Borders in Brentwood, CA. As expected, they complement each other while maintaining their individual styles. But this time they taught me to love a color I once dismissed. That, is the power of the Olsen.Ashley, always the slightly sleeker, wore a leather mini, a dark sweater, and a lush taupe velvet jacket. I adore the jacket; it's slightly vampy, entirely luxe. Mary-Kate loosened up in a silky taupe utilitarian dress cinched with a bright red belt. She loaded on jewelry to add some boho flavor. Both went the exposed leg route, better to show off their edgy shoes. Ashley in the new YSL double platform shoe-to-have and Mary-Kate in Proenza Schouler cut-out booties. I wonder if they still play sisterly dress up and get ready together - looks like it!

Hot mama Heidi Klum continually knows how to make it work. As of late, she's been into the peek-a-boo effect with a sheer blouse and sexy bra. Style For Style: Freeing Leather of Wrinkles

Before ordering my new favorite faux leather jacket, I had never thought of ways to get wrinkles out of leather. It was only when the box arrived, and I found my poor jacket wrinkled from being packed so tightly, that I felt the need.

With Fall upon us and leather items, like this Kenna-T Leather Mini Skirt ($264), being major must haves, it's important to know how to free them of the ugly wrinkles they get.

read more. Since you can't iron leather, I put my brain to use. A light bulb went off and I ran for the dryer. I turned the temperature to the lowest setting possible (I didn't want to start a fire) and threw my leather jacket in for a one-minute spin. When I took it out, it was considerably less wrinkly. Fabulous. I put it in for another 30 seconds to get the last of the creases out. Feel free to use this technique on any leather item that becomes wrinkly. Just make sure you don't leave it in for too long, as you don't want your leather to melt! Source

Kova & T Latex High Waisted Skirt: Love It or Hate It?

The only latex I currently own is a pair of dishwashing gloves. I'm wondering if it's time to expand my collection to include this Kova & T Latex High Waisted Skirt ($209).

This concept looks like a lighter, shinier version of leather, but is latex any more comfortable? I'm up in the air on this one. What do you think?
