Today, Orlando Bloom launched Boss Orange Man at Selfridges in London, and while the actor is definitely easy on the eyes, I have to admit that my gaze was torn between Orlando and his beautifully worn leather chair. I've had my eye on chesterfield sofas lately, so it's no surprise that I was attracted to the nailhead trim, aged brown leather, and tufted back of Orlando's chair. There are plenty of gorgeous chairs of a similar ilk on the market today. For Opening Ceremony's Fall 2012 collection, designers Humberto Leon and Carol Lim created a cozy collection inspired by the natural wonders of Patagonia. With a focus on textures and prints inspired by the great outdoors, the duo created a sporty luxe collection comprised of printed trousers, puffer coats, lace-inset sweatshirts, and body-con fleece dresses. Tempering the casual aesthetic were refined touches via leather trim, Mongolian fur, and metallic finishes. Meanwhile, the brand's accessory offerings ranged from round red sunglasses to chunky lace-up boots and chic printed loafers. The collection is definitely a slightly more mature take compared to their past collections, but nonetheless true to Humberto and Carol's whimsical cool style. This may be designer Stefano Pilati's last season with Yves Saint Laurent, but the designer sure didn't disappoint. His Fall collection was edgy and dark, with leather gracing everything from tuxedo lapels, to tops, to trousers - which Stefano teamed with luxe fur trim, large prints, and cinched waists. Ladylike silhouettes like pencil skirts and shift dresses were made out of chain mail, toughening up traditionally feminine pieces - and of course, it wouldn't be a YSL runway without a Le Smoking jacket or two. Just what did the French designer have in store? A heavy helping of patent-leather pants and skirts paired with her signature tailored blazers, jewel-tone silk lace dresses, and gorgeous metallic finishes on structured tops and cropped trousers. For her Fall 2012 collection, Isabel Marant mixed her signature bohemian-cool style with a splash of the Wild West. Specifically, it was the late 19th century cowgirls that inspired Marant: "I love the way they were wearing very masculine trousers to ride horses with lace shirts," said Marant. That said, the designer mixed feminine pieces with tougher elements by pairing a bevy of cowgirl shirts and sheer blouses with ruffled skirts and cropped pants. The latter featured a mix of fringed jeans and a standout pair of louche gray suede trousers with red trim. Short dresses ranged from laser-cut leather minis to a silk shirtdress rendition of the cowgirl top. Peter Copping makes channeling the seductive edge of Parisian chic nearly effortless with Nina Ricci's Fall 2012. Set off in rich berry hues and a decidedly darker palette, Ricci is still all woman, only sexier. Where we're given ladylike shapes - cinched waists and full skirts, Copping finishes in sultry sheer, luxe fur, and leg-baring slits or cutout necklines. Tweedy fabrics in the sexiest iterations banish every image of traditional skirt suits reworked in curve-conscious dressing and patchworked with hints of lace. We get the playful references to lingerie dressing, but with every dose Copping's looks are all crafted with charm. A hint of floral print, pinks and pastels - even on heels finished with sparkly embellished straps - punctuate the black chiffon and deep plum hues giving way to a delightful girlishness in all the grown-up glamour. That's not by accident - Copping explains his inspiration for the collection as "a little girl playing dress up."
