Yesterday we discussed Kristen's life aquatic in Proenza Schouler - I'm surprised more of you didn't love it. I thought it was youthful and unique. The Luna Nueva star stopped in Madrid in her favorite vampy color. Black. But she mixed her sheer top, black-bustier Elizabeth and James mini dress with blood-red pumps. Girl's got some stems, albeit pale ones, but that's the way Edward likes them. Do you like?

Congratulations red leather and relatives, you are officially noncheesy anymore. Berry-stained leather, as exhibited by the ravenous Rachel Weisz in Spain, is utterly appetizing. Of course, a lot depends on the accompaniments. Weisz smartly wore her smooth berry leather jacket with an adorable blue floral dress - both Marc Jacobs Resort - and killer black Barbara Bui suede sandals; she did no wrong. Keeping things feminine and unique will let your raspberry, blueberry, or tayberry piece pop.

Angelina got in major sexy mode last night at the Inglourious Basterds premiere in LA. Despite the fact that she stuck to her signature color, black, she knocked it out of the ballpark with her strapless leather Michael Kors dress. If you recall, Angelina's stylist Jen Rade once told me she puts the actress in black because it allows her strong features to shine. The strappy black Christian Dior sandals and red cocktail ring keep her chic, not biker-chick. But of course, her best accessory is Brad in an all-black (Tom Ford?) suit. Damn.

Catherine McNeil is it. She's the epitome of it - womanly, rebellious, sexual, and capable of making men moan. She gets more into character by wearing all black and leather Balmain, Nina Ricci, Alexander Wang, and Yves Saint Laurent. It's leather heaven and this Australian model wears it like no other. Girl is on a roll! Emma showed up in yet another hot look at the New York Harry Potter premiere. We've been there done that with leather skirts, but a leather halter contrasted with a ladylike ivory skirt and cinched with a contrasting belt is fresh. Her ruched black Proenza strappy sandals tie the look together, and a cool glowing green ring delivers a hint of color. Emma's Proenza Schouler getup is actually a dress, but this can be re-created with separates.

Carla Bruni-Sarkozy Goes Antianimal, Hermes Goes Pro

Carla Bruni-Sarkozy has the pick of the litter when it comes to wearing sumptuous designer creations but her selection might be a little more limited now that she's vowed to be more animal friendly. "I do not wear, buy, or own fur or animal skin other than leather or skin of animals raised for feeding purposes. I am not a vegetarian and I don't find it illogical to wear skins of animals whose meat is also eaten." said Bruni-Sarkozy in a recent letter to PETA. Will Carla inspire others to do the same?

Meanwhile, Hermes has just announced it will start breeding its own crocodiles to keep up with the high demand for its iconic handbags. Despite the recession, Hermes produces 3,000 crocodile bags a year, which is not enough for the crazy waiting list - often several years long - of customers. "We cannot face demand. We have massive overdemand. The world is not full of crocodiles." said Hermes chief executive, Patrick Thomas.

Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair Zippered Gloves: Love It or Hate It?

Leather and zippers usually go together like peanut butter and jelly but there's something to be said about these >Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair Zippered Gloves ($215). Is it just me or do they remind you of dish-washing gloves? This is a classic case of good intention, bad execution. What do you think?

One day leather met satin. They came from two separate worlds, but had some serious chemistry. Leather toughened up satin, while satin softened up leather. Missfox brought out the best in each one and they all lived happily ever after. The end.
