Leggings have been around for a while, but in 2009, they made a mad comeback. Face it: everywhere you turned, limbs were dolled up in leggings. Some basic, a few crazy, many cropped, lots of long. Jeggings even had their own cult following and outshone regular denim. Catwalks, streets, malls, and boutiques all embraced the comfy chic trend. Long live the legging!

Lindsay Lohan may have continued to push headlines this year, but one thing remained: her 6126 legging line. I think it's a combination of good timing - leggings are winning trend of the year - publicity, and innovative design. Let's face it, she kind of took leggings to another level. Here's the Spring Look Book, I'm already looking forward to lightening my leggings for sunnier days and these textural nude ones are my first musings. And the Lindsay Lohan 6126/FabSugar Leggings Contest Winner Is . . .

The votes are in and Lindsay Lohan has chosen the 6126/FabSugar Leggings Contest winner. Out of over 200 entries, Lindsay narrowed it down to one dreamy sketch. Congratulations to Cali girl Candice Aman! In addition to receiving $1,000, her design will be added to Lindsay's Spring 6126 collection. When asked about her design inspiration, Candice said, "I was inspired by a type of tracksuit bottoms that I had when I was younger. They unbutton all the way up along the sides and I thought that a leggings design utilizing this idea would be interesting. I also wanted to incorporate hardware in the design so I made buttons! We brought you 10 crazy funky jeans, so it's only fair that we give leggings the same treatment. This one's for all you bold girls. It takes a certain personality to pull off gutsy leggings, but if you're the daring type, revel in the endless supply of sequin, lace, tie-dye, and stud-embellished offerings. I was appalled by some of these at first glance, but then again, I can see such radical styles - like this Diane von Furstenberg Animal Print Legging ($115) - tempered with tailored coats and simple tees.
