Think back to the phantasmagoria of awards season a few months back. You will notice that while the gowns and the actresses in the gowns were the main sights to see, the shoes and handbags got less attention. In most cases, ladies carry the exclusive minaudière - a fancier than fancy little evening bag - as to not distract from the glowing actress. Minaudières actually date back to the Roaring Twenties fashion scene, but it wasn't until 1963 when Judith Leiber affixed thousands of crystals onto a tarnished metal frame when they really took off.

Now these little stunners are going to be available for us common folk, at common prices, who don't have thousands to spend on a classic Judith Leiber one. Completely wedding appropriate, I would love to see someone clench one wearing a sleek tank and jeans - just for the hell of it!

Beauty Byte: Judith Leiber Launching a Perfume

Judith Leiber is famous for her classically luxurious evening bags, and now the designer is extending that expertise to fragrance. According to Women's Wear Daily, the brand is launching its first eau de parfum, called Leiber, in September. It will be sold in 150 upscale stores, including Saks, Neiman Marcus, and Bloomingdale's.

The scent uses top notes of bergamot, mandarin leaf, pineapple, and osmanthus and includes a number of floral accents, such as rose essence, jasmine absolu, and gardenia, plus muskier base notes. According to WWD:

"The Leiber customer wants something exceptionally crafted, rare and not available to everyone," Leiber's president and creative director, Frank Zambrelli, said in a recent interview. "We wanted to express that in a fragrance."

... The bottle is meant to resemble an Asscher-cut diamond, "an oversized cocktail ring," said Zambrelli.

The bottle also seems to echo Leiber's evening bag designs, which is a nice touch. Leiber eau de parfum will be available in three sizes: a 1.7-ounce version for $110, a 1-ounce bottle for $75, and a purse spray (naturally!) with refill for $95.

Diane Kruger wore a striped top and polka-dot skirt from the Alessandra Rich Spring collection in Berlin yesterday. She paired the prints with a fun jaguar clutch from Judith Leiber. Diane has brought out multiple fashionable looks during the Berlin Film Festival, including a dramatic Giambattista Valli and a unique 10 Crosby by Derek Lam skirt and dress combo. Her movie Farewell, My Queen is in the running for the festival's grand prize, the Golden Bear. Helping to decide which film takes home the top honor is Jake Gyllenhaal, who is a member of the jury. Also on hand for the German event are Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, since they stepped out to premiere In the Land of Blood and Honey together today.

Diane Kruger Picks a Dramatic Look For Her Royal Debut

All eyes were on Diane Kruger as she made her way down the red carpet at tonight's Berlin Film Festival premiere of Farewell, My Queen. She began the day at a photocall wearing a colorful look from 10 Crosby by Derek Lam and chatted with press, in her native German, about director Benoît Jacquot's dramatic Marie Antoinette tale. She spoke freely about the project, and even addressed the movie's over the top fashion. Diane said of the wardrobe, "I personally hate historical films where people just look at dresses and hair. . . I had to forget that to do the film. . .You need to see the woman Marie Antoinette, not just the queen."

For tonight's screening Diane went for a bolder look and turned up the sparkle factor in a beaded Giambattista Valli Couture gown, jeweled Judith Leiber clutch, and edgy cuff earrings. Diane and boyfriend Joshua Jackson are one of our favorite red-carpet pairs, and they're right at the top of our pre-Valentine's Day list of Hollywood's cutest couples. He couldn't be with her tonight, but she did have the company of the film festival's director, Dieter Kosslick.

Michelle Williams picked Jason Wu for her big Golden Globes appearance this evening. She paired the blue, velvet-embellished frock with a Judith Leiber bag and a vintage Fred Leighton headband. Michelle is nominated for best actress this evening thanks to her role in My Week With Marilyn. The picture also earned a best supporting actor nod for Kenneth Branagh, as well as a nod in the best comedy or musical category. Michelle brought her friend Busy Philipps along for their third girls-only Golden Globes. We're excited to see fun pictures of the girls at the assorted afterparties, whether or not Michelle takes home a win!
