Applegate opted for a ladylike apple-green blouse and skirt team, Mario Bello went sleek in a white suit, January was a vision in a cool sheer detail LBD, and Anne brightened things up in an orange Lela Rose frock. If you tuned into FABTV a couple weeks ago. you knew this one was coming. "Cool Rider." Obsessed. I have a Fab crush on Stephanie Zinone - and apparently you do, too! Right on. But there's more where that came from in the camp classic Grease 2. One could argue the original is the best, but I go back and forth. The wardrobes are pretty even Steven '50s high, but the sequel was filmed in '82, so there's a slight '80s flair, via sporty sunnies and lamé luau garb. Let's agree, both are Fab - but I'd choose Michael Carrington over Danny Zuko any day . . .

Ever since Payless went upscale, I've kept a close eye on it. The Fall designer shoes are avail and they're totally affordable. Alice + Olivia, Abaeté, Lela Rose, and Christian Siriano deliver sass via jewels, tassels, lace, chains, and buckles - all for under $60. Now my only question is, where are those amazing Abaeté chain booties? I'll keep a lookout for them, but in the meantime, check out what's in store.

Fab Flash: Rachel Bilson, InStyle Fashion Editor

Rachel Bilson is spreading her fashion wings by writing for InStyle magazine. In the May issue, the celebrity designer has her own page (page 148) named, Ask Rachel. "I’m actually flattered more than anything that people want to ask me questions about style. I am honored to do it,” said Bilson.

In her editorial debut, Rachel answers readers style questions and dishes on her favorite Spring items, which include Lela Rose for Payless flats, Lanvin sandals, and Matta scarves. When asked if it's OK to pair a big shoulder bag with a cocktail dress, Rachel replied, "You can absolutely wear a large purse with a party dress. In fact, I prefer it. Of course, it shouldn't be the size of a carry-on, and anything with an overly large strap is too casual. But a funky purse can offset the fuss of fancy." On Our Radar: Lela Rose Bridesmaids

Funny. I just finished an extensive search helping my best friend find her - my - bridesmaid dresses. She put me in charge because, well, you know why. We just found them! We're going with J.Crew's silk taffeta cocktail dresses, but had timing been different, I may have suggested Lela Rose. The American designer of super femme, city-savvy clothes is delving into the bridesmaid market. Nary a pastel or petticoat in sight, Lela's dresses will come in jewel tone hues and modern silhouettes. One example is a crinkle chiffon dress with rosette details inspired by the First Daughter’s bridesmaids’ dresses. Shorter dresses will be $300 and the maximum will be $450 for full-length gowns. Also, Rose will continue her partnership with Payless and launch "The Unforgettable Moments by Lela Rose" dyeable shoe collection in December.

Fab Finds of the Week: Mellow Yellow

As the song goes, " . . . they call me mellow yellow . . . ", but soon they'll be calling you mellow yellow. That's because this week's Fab Find's were in shades of dusty dandelion. Whether a cardigan, a leather jacket, or a pair of earrings, this chipper color feels very 70s but still modern. New York Fashion Week, Fall 2008: Lela Rose

It was sheer madness at Lela Rose. Girlie blouses, and sleeves and necklines of dresses were see-through for subtle sexiness.

But that's not even half of what Rose offered up. You name it, this collection had: colored anoraks, metallic tulip skirts, sequin tops and skirts, wide-leg pants, skinny pants, and dresses galore: tiered, taffeta, one-shoulder, chiffon, and one ruffled garnet colored dress that looked slightly Lanvin. That means we're closer to being able to afford the dramatic party frocks we all loved for Spring.

Hallelujah for some color on the catwalk. Teal, mustard, red, metallic blue and burgundy all had their place in the show. Rose always manages to create uptown pieces that are far from stuffy and she's accomplished this yet again.
