Guess who's starring inside V Magazine's upcoming 61st issue? Amber Valletta, that's who. The model took the Fall slot looking stylishly stealth in a black and white editorial shot by Hedi Slimane. I'm loving the gritty array of denim and range of avant-garde to casual tops. Her striking eyes are magnetizing and pulling her hair away from her face exemplifies her striking cheek bones. Take note of how stylist Clare Richardson geniusly combined high/low brands from the likes of Benetton, H&M, Levi’s, Hudson, Uniqlo, Dolce & Gabbana to create a dirty yet divine vibe. The Top 10 Essentials, According to Nina Garcia

I just wrapped up Nina Garcia's Little Black Book of Style and it was a truly lovely read. It would make a great gift for any woman looking to up her style ante. It's easy to read, and easy on the eyes, and is full of juicy fashion learnings.

Last week I talked about the 10 fashion essentials, according to Tim Gunn and you all added your two cents. Well, Nina, being a Project Runway judge and fashion director at ELLE, has an opinion on the 10 essentials as well. You will notice quite a difference between hers and Tim's - although some items make both lists, ie. LBD, white shirt, cashmere and trench. Nina's essentials are a bit more womanly and include luxe accessories; the gal certainly has taste. And, as she puts it: "Go a little crazy. Be a little dramatic. Have a lot of fun." Amen.

On Our Radar: Levi Strauss Offering a Fuller Collection For Fall

Last year's Levi Strauss and Operations collaboration was so successful, the two brands have partnered up again to create a fuller Fall line. More specifically, the Operations for Levi Strauss & Co. collection consists of 14 pieces including a watchmaker vest, a Scottish cavalry blazer, GI driver's jacket, and Scottish military blazer. Retail value ranges from $125 to $300.

In addition, two special pieces - a trench coat and a belted short trench - will be available only in the New York and San Francisco stores.
