The fashion world will never be done mourning Alexander McQueen. But, according to PPR president Francois-Henri Pinault, the brand will go on. Before we witness McQueen's last Fall RTW collection at Paris Fashion Week, let's marvel at his pre-Fall pieces. Look Book Love: Madewell, Spring '10

Now that we know the inspiration behind a lot of Madewell's righteous pieces is Alexa Chung, let's examine its Spring collection. Dungarees - we called it - made a debut, along with the usual gamut of cute separates comprised of skinny pants, boyfriend jeans, and casual tees. Also apparent were a sweet selection of printed dresses and skirts - I especially love this black and white printed pencil mini. I think I'll have to stop into the NYC store during Fashion Week!

Let me preface this by telling you Zara stores are currently having a 50 percent off sale. I know where I'll be on payday! Meanwhile, Zara's Spring/Summer collection is trickling into stores, so while you snatch up some reduced garb, look out for these silky neutrals and fly denim pieces. I'm not a sandstorm-color kind of girl, but these pieces have a cool Chloe tinge to them. For something spunkier, check out the new Casual collection, loaded with cool tees, denim cutoffs, and prairie dresses. Oh yeah.

For Urban Outfitters, early Spring is all about the charming vintage girl. If you're that kind of cutie, immerse yourself in its abundance of pretty floral blouses, flirty skirts, and flowy dresses. Silk camisoles and striped bathing suits further the romantic theme. Sounds too soft? There's also a smattering of streamlined blazers, cutoff shorts, and utilitarian anoraks for the citified chick. I'm especially smitten with this striped open-back dress. Doesn't it make you want to grab your mallet and enjoy a day of croquette?

H&M has given me another reason to look forward to Spring. Its new Garden Collection - modeled by the illustrious Natasha Poly - is not only flirty and fresh, but also sustainable. Every piece from this collection was designed using organic materials, recycled PET bottles, or textile waste. Who would have thought discarded waste could be turned into girly chiffon frocks, garden print tops, crisp linen shorts, and rad blazers? If this doesn't make you want to recycle, I don't know what will.

I've died and gone to Chloe heaven. For her Spring accessories, Chloe's Hannah MacGibbon stayed true to her tailored feminine aesthetic supplying us with a decadent selection of polished bags, cute footwear, and stellar sunnies. Neutrals ruled, but the occasional pops of color, via a yummy cherry red Paraty bag, and marine-blue ballet flats, also made an appearance. This gray Python Paraty bag is calling my name. Please, don't wake me from my dream.

Look Book Love: Society For Rational Dress, Spring '10

Society For Rational Dress designer, Corinne Grassini relates fashion design to architecture, “An architect, like a clothing designer, designs a space that a person is going to move around in. It is our job to make that space comforting, inviting and inspiring.” Makes sense to me. For Spring, the brand, known for its feminine and flattering shapes, constructed a robust selection of tailored silk skirts, billowy skirts, and draped dresses dipped in hues of warm beige, forest green, soft white, and caramel. I love how nubby cardis and thin sweaters add the perfect textural contrast. I'll take one of each, please.
