The Resort Collections are typically my favorite of the year. Designed with only the uber rich in mind, resort collections are full of practical yet whimsical fashions. Resort 2012 focused on colorblocking, varsity chic, exotic prints, and so much more that I decided to compile five of my favorite looks along with how you can copy the look for much less. Think of it as your own personal Resort Collection, for a fraction of the cost! And then you just might be able to indulge in your own fancy vacation!

Celebrity Style For Less

Love the look of colorblocking? OnSugar blog Beauty and the Budget has your how-to right here.

Camilla Belle didn't need a fashion stylist for this look because it was pulled directly from the Gucci Spring 2011 catwalk. From head to toe, she rocks my absolute favorite runway ensemble and this season's most stellar trend - colorblocking. This is a simple ensemble to recreate, simply because it involves solid colored basics.

You can recreate the look using the pieces I selected above, or you can do your own shopping around to find the best deals. On a side note, I would check vintage shops for an orange blazer. Chances are, you'll be able to find a great, bright colored blazer for a great price. You can also adjust the color palette according to your own personal taste. If you aren't up for wearing a bright orange blazer, a beige blazer would make a great substitution. Or you can sub the bright green pants for a pair of black trousers instead. Modify the look how you see fit, but remember that the most essential part of this ensemble is colorblocking!

Prada spearheaded the bold stripes trend for Spring. If you're looking for something just as eye-catching, but without the hefty price tag, check out these similar inspired picks from OnSugar blog Fashion Project9.

Prada's stripes from the Spring 2011 collection are all the rage. The popularity of stripes is going on into summer. There are stripes everywhere. Stripes are not a new design element, but Prada's use of them was really innovative. See The Color of Spring post for more examples. If you'd like to imitate the Prada striped look on a budget, all striped garments that you choose should have crisp stripes (no wavy lines and not variegated in color) and you want to look for tops or dresses with an extended shoulder line. Topshop has some adorable striped pencil skirts and a selection of tops that fit the bill. Also, Zara has a selection of clothing that very closely resembles (perhaps too closely) the Prada Spring collection.- Annamarie

The fashion industry is nothing short of obsessed with former model and MTV star Alexa Chung, even going as far as to call her the new Kate Moss. I think it's her effortless style and the way she puts traditionally nerdy pieces, like buttoned-up oxford shirts, with sexy pieces, like short-shorts and high heels for a cute librarian look. And her hair! Whether it's the cut or the color-I can only imagine that hairstylists groan when yet another client pulls out a magazine tear of Ms. Chung. Get her look for much less here.
