This year, we mourned the deaths of the beloved Farrah Fawcett, photographer Irving Penn, Gap's co-founder Donald Fisher, and the king of pop, Michael Jackson. Each made a huge impact in the world and we will always remember them for their stellar style and contribution to the industry. Also recognized were shuttered fashion houses Christian Lacroix and Luella Bartley - what a shame. Let's take a moment and pay respect to these fashion greats.

The Hollywood Awards Gala, the first event of award season, summoned a star-studded cast in LA last night. Charlize Theron, Zooey Deschanel, Diane Kruger, Julianne Moore, and Kate Beckinsale all livened up the red carpet with their chic ensembles. Charlize and Kate opted for slimming black, Diane looked angelic in white, and Zooey and Julianne coated themselves in color. Take a good look and decide who's most Fab.

Yowza. This Luella Polly Corset Dress ($1,845) is truly a blast from the past. The cut and hot pink embellishments are straight from the '80s. Don't get me wrong - I love the bright contrast - but the diagonal stripes, ruched chiffon, and ruffle embellishments create a zany effect. On the other hand, it might just take the right girl to rock Luella's creation. What say you?

Fall Glimpse: Mad Plaider

Log cabins. Maple syrup. Grunge. My 21st birthday D&G dress. These are all a few of my favorite plaid things. While you probably already have a plaid item in your closet, or your boyfriend's closet, plaid has gone a bit mad for Fall. Consider an Edwardian jacket and pants a la McQueen, a tucked and pleated dress at Thakoon, mismatched and buttoned up at D&G. But my favorite is the slightly punky, paired with gray tights anime-looking Luella girl (left). She may look a bit mad, but whether it's tartan, glen, or buffalo, it's the shape of plaids to come.

Oxymoron is a Luella girl minus the Luella price tag. She loved the designer's floral tiered mini skirts, but since she didn't want to pay the high price, she found a look for less! Smart girl for wearing a simple black tee and allowing the cutesy skirt to shine.

The Look For Less: Luella Tiered Floral Mini Skirt

Luella's fun, floral frocks have been making their rounds but I'm most smitten with the tiered floral mini skirt that bug-eyed model Masha Tylena wore at the Spring '08 show. The designer has proven that little girls aren't the only ones who can pull off this style. Now if only she could have made it more affordable . . .

read more Forever 21 is no stranger to high-fashion duplications, but this Floral Ruffle Skirt ($18) is one of the best so far. The colors aren't dead on, and the tiers are much bigger, but it's equally fabulous and much less pricey. Follow Luella and pair it with a casual tee, lace-up heels, and a cardi to get a playful Spring look!

Who Wore It Better? Luella Floral Mini Dress

Luella's lighthearted frocks are spreading joy everywhere these days. Kelly Osbourne wore the designer's floral mini dress to the South Bank Show Awards with black opaque tights and red earrings. Kimberly Stewart wore the same dress to the opening of H&M on Regent Street in London with a tied blue cardigan and black tights. Both ladies look hip, but who wins your heart?

Grammy Awards: Corinne Bailey Rae

New songstress Corinne Bailey Rae attended her very first Grammy Awards and did so with a bang. She looks confident (although a little bored?) in her blue strapless Luella dress with oversized floral pailettes. The frock is fun, but I'm not so sure about the wide satin belt. It's a bit distracting. What do you think?
