I have a friend who is a self-proclaimed plaid addict. She does look darn cute in it. And so does Rihanna, in her oversized Vince shirt. Sure plaid works at the cozy cabin in Winter, but it equally works on the cruiser in Summer. This time, the design team found inspiration from a recent trip to Paris and mixed that together with their all-American aesthetic. The outcome is a genius mix of chunky knits, lumberjack tops, Parisian-inspired prints, and a ton of denim. “We’re obsessed with washing,” said head designer of Madewell, Kin Lee, who mentioned that leathers, scarves, and knits were also put in the wash for a worn-in feel. Here's one celebrity mom who has a style you will hopefully like better than yesterday's! I for one love these red plaid lumberjack tops we've been seeing and I'm currently looking out for the perfect pair of zippered cropped jeans. Courteney is one mom who proves fashion doesn't have to suffer post baby! I for one have been a CC fan since her debut in Springsteen's "Dancing in the dark" video. You've come a long way baby!

Sneak Peek! Gap Inc.'s Holiday Collection

Gap Inc., which owns Gap, Banana Republic, and Old Navy, recently held its Holiday 2008 collection presentation in NYC, and Fashion Wire Daily showed us some of the holiday goods from the three retailers. With increasing gas prices, we can all afford to shop with a budget-conscious mindset right now, and luckily, we don't have to sacrifice good taste.

At the higher end is Banana Republic, who will offer oodles of evening looks, including a Prada-inspired lace dress. Gap's Holiday line is less fancy and more comfy, with lumberjack plaids and wool coats. Old Navy (pictured left) will provide pops of color.

Fab's Fall Most Wanted

Hello Fall! Though I try to hold on to Summer as long as possible, it is officially Fall fashion time and I have compiled my Fall Most Wanted. After flipping through all the glossies, studying Fab ads and clicking through my favorite fashion sites, I now know what I need to build a fresh wardrobe. Some of these items are fantastical, ie. way out of my budget, and some of them are actually obtainable. All of them are this month's desideratum, for me, and hopefully you too!

I have a thing for coats, though I hate snowy weather, but there's no doubt a sharp coat in a sharp color makes a woman; this flaming Versace is my pick of the litter. I think fashion is welcoming separates again and therefore I'd like to slither into this grey D&G high waisted tailored skirt, which would look so polished with these Theory Barbara High Heel Booties. Yay for booties! Marc Jacobs Small Anna Leather Bag flirts with the art deco lover in me while this In God We Trust Lumberjack Tunic has been tempting me for months - I'm mad for plaid! I think I have officially decided to give blazers a try, and this Elizabeth & James Shrunken Blazer fits the bill. And while I'm supporting the Olsens, per Elizabeth and James, doesn't this Nanette Lepore Boyfriend Sequin Cardigan whisper Ashley Olsen? With a few more sophisticated and bold items to covet, I think I'd be quite the lady come Fall. Fab be a lady tonight...

3. Classic Grunge Sure it looks fashionable on her, but we think lumberjack plaids may be a little tough to pull off if you don't have a spot-on sense of style.

4. Boy Meets Girl Wide legged trousers and neckties are very Annie Hall. Classic and probably the most wearable of these looks.

5. Pump Up the Volume Fall is all about balancing proportions - skinny jeans with baggy sweaters, or tight tanks with wide-legged trousers. Does this mean Seinfeld's "Puffy Shirt" might just work this season with the right pair of leggings?

6. Inky Darks Classic cold-weather dressing, grey, chocolate and navy can all be paired with black for a more conservative, yet modern, look. Any excuse to bust out the fishnet stockings!

7. Bold Graphics Bold and organic prints can be paired with more understated items to show off your shape. Wearable, as long as you've got a shape to show off!

8. Sweater Dresses The sweater dress is a blast from the past and speaks for itself. I might have to warm up to this one.
