Who knew M.I.A. came out with a clothing line? We did. M.I.A. has caught our eye a few times - remember when she was the week's Fab favorite? - and her clothing line, Okley by M.I.A., is ready for judging. The performer definitely has her own funky, urban style. If you're into it, you might like these The Afrika Leggings ($85). They totally remind me of the TV show A Different World and Cross Colours. Any takers?

This Week's Fab Favorite: M.I.A

Oodles of celebrities looked pretty this week, but M.I.A had the whole world in her hands. She is downright funky, and talented, but we rarely see the British performer dressed up. Such was the dress code for MoMA's 40th Annual Party in the Garden in New York and the lassie's iridescent sequin cut-out dress was truly unique. She toned it down with neutral suede peep-toe pumps but she also had a statement accessory: a globe purse. If you look close, she also has neon polished toes and fingers and green eyeliner on, staying true to her street style. Her dangly gold earrings camouflaged with her natural waves; a nice touch. This dress looks vintage but maybe it's by her friend Marc Jacobs - remember she posed in his Marc by Marc ads this Spring. M.I.A also performed at the event but her party ensemble was the winner.

Trend Alert: The Bronze Gladiator

I revel in it when a previous bargain of mine finally makes it to trend status. Not to brag, but I scored a pair of Christian Dior bronze gladiators over a year ago on major markdown - they were from the 2008 Cruise collection. It was right when gladiators were surfacing, though I've always liked the masculine/feminine sandal. Now gladiators are every which where and it was hard to miss Gwyneth's Giuseppe Zanotti for Balmain bronze sandals at the Two Lovers premiere in Cannes. So we all have black ones, move on to the lover, the fighter, the bronze gladiator.

Does Marc Jacobs have a new obsession? First Sri Lankan songstress M.I.A. DJed his runway after party last month, and now she appeared in the ad campaign for his Marc by Marc Jacobs diffusion line, so it sure seems like it.

Her colorful, funky on-stage style complements the bold background prints and vivid colors appearing in these Juergen Teller-shot ads. Overall, do they make you smile? Or do they hurt your eyes?

You know those not-so-fresh days? Even I have moments of style slaking when I really just want to run my errands in a pair of Chucks and an old hoodie. However, I have a reputation to upkeep. Not that there's anything wrong with dressing casual, it's just a disgrace to my collection of 24/7 flats. Meaning flats that are so fabulous they work around the clock, because of glam details like rhinestones, glitter, and pearls. As this week's Life&Style points out, even divas-in-the-making like Rihanna tone things down with a pair, but not too much. Really, all you need is a white tee, an easy-going pair of jeans and you're stylish - 24/7.

I Want This Wardrobe: Cashmere Mafia, Mia Mason

We're four episodes into Cashmere Mafia and I still haven't made up my mind about the show and the wardrobe. Yes, I respect costume designer Patricia Field for her work on Sex and the City, but overall, the outfits are a bit unrealistic. I mean, do these women ever take off those trendy belts?

One look I did admire from this week's episode, "The Deciders," was that of Lucy Liu's character, Mia Mason. She made making her ex-fiance jealous look good in her metallic striped dress, cropped trench, suede ankle boots, and quilted bag. We may never end up dating a hot brain surgeon like Mia, but we can steal her wardrobe!

The Look For Less: Balmain Ankle Fringe Sandal

I'm all about fringe. It gives off a carefree, bohemian vibe, and I'll use any excuse to dress up like Pocahontas. This Balmain Ankle Fringe Sandal ($375, originally $750) is exactly what I'm looking for, but even on sale, it's still too rich for my blood. Boo. There has to be something similar . . .
