Sneak Peek! Make Me a Supermodel Season Two Contestants

If you didn't vote for season two's Make Me a Supermodel contestants, then you can't complain about the chosen 16. Karen and Ken were the lucky ones who made the cut. From the looks of it, no one from this bunch is supermodel material as of yet. But I've seen the magic this show can work - they did it last season - so I'm not worried. Below, meet Chris, Salome, and, of course, hottie host, Tyson Beckford. This round's judges include Catherine Malandrino and old Calvin Klein model Jenny Shimizu. I'm excited for the season premiere on March 4 on Bravo. Are you?

On Our Radar: Vote For Make Me a Supermodel Contestants

I know it's hard with all the reality TV out there, but do you remember Bravo's Make Me a Supermodel? It was one of my favorite shows this year. It took people you never thought could model and made them supermodel material, or close to it. Now, the show is coming back for its second season.But before it goes on air in 2009, you have the chance to vote for one female and one male to be cast in the series. This is your chance to play fashion god. Let me warn you: the contestants don't look model-material right now, but like I said, this show has the amazing power to transform. Christian Siriano Red and Purple Ruffle Dress: Love It or Hate It?

Last night, on Make Me a Supermodel, fierce Project Runway winner Christian Siriano showed up and gave the remaining models catwalk and styling tips. He didn't come empty handed though. He brought with him a present for Holly: a high-neck, red and purple ruffle dress similar to his ombré frock from Project Runway's New York Fashion Week runway show. The judges didn't think Holly commanded presence in the frock, and I agree. Still the signature Christian dress is simultaneously loud and graceful, just the way I take my haute couture. Are you smitten?

TV Tonight: Make Me a Supermodel

I'm not sure if I would have started watching Bravo's Make Me a Supermodel had the writers' strike not been in full swing when it started, but the show has become one of my favorite guilty pleasures. In some ways, the show proves how silly America's Next Top Model can be; Supermodel is way harsher than anything Tyra can bring.

I blame the ridiculous challenges for sucking me in so fast. They started with having the guys and girls get cozy together on a park bench and only got steamier from there. Thongs on the runway? Lingerie-clad boudoir photographs? Completely nude posing? Check, check, and check.

Where do you go from there? Well, if tonight's episode is any indication, apparently you go into a water tank with a ginormous yellow boa constrictor. Why do those things even go together? But hey, not complaining - the crazier the assignments are, the better this show gets.

It's Raining Men! Make Me a Supermodel's Hot Boys

It's currently Men's Fashion Week in Europe, so I've got hunky male models on my brain. Further satiating my appetite are the sizzling male contestants on Bravo's show Make Me a Supermodel. Even if you've merely glanced at the tube while the show was on, you know that the aspiring male models have so much more potential than their female counterparts. Some of them even put host Tyson Beckford to shame.

These boys are going places; they have the bodies of Greek gods and faces that are unearthly. Three in particular stand out for me: Perry (left), Frankie (center), and Casey (right). Not only are they easy on the eyes, but they pose and pout as if it's been their job since exiting the womb. And have you seen them work the catwalk? Are You Watching Make Me a Supermodel?

While America's Next Top Model takes a break, Bravo is trying its own hand at a modeling competition. Hosted by Niki Taylor and Tyson Beckford, Make Me a Supermodel - which had its official premiere episode last night - is Bravo's first stab at doing a show where audience votes determine the winner. Of course, for that to work, the show needs an audience, so tell me: Are you watching?

Bravo Signs Up Shear Genius, Top Design, Hey B*tches!

From Top Chef to The Real Housewives of Orange County to Project Runway, reality programming has been Bravo's strong suit of late. The network just announced a winter lineup chock full of what it does best, and it's also bringing back two of its attempts to clone Runway - Top Design and Shear Genius - for another round. Some of the highlights:

Top Design, the seriously lackluster interior design show that I watched faithfully every week despite its mediocrity, is getting another chance - but not without a makeover of its own. Magical Elves, the folks behind Runway, are taking over the production on the show. No word on whether Todd Oldham and Jonathan Adler are returning.
Shear Genuis, on the other hand, doesn't seem to be getting any major changes for its second season, and that's just fine with me. Despite my initial resistance, I loved this show's over-the-top craziness, not to mention Dr. Boogie's booties.
Bravo has two new reality shows scheduled to start in January: Millionaire Matchmaker, a Flipping Out-style show focusing on high-end matchmaker Patti Stanger, and Make Me a Supermodel, a modeling competition hosted by Niki Taylor and Tyson Beckford. Supermodel will air Thursdays at 10, while Matchmaker will take over the Real Housewives time slot after its season finale.
Bravo also has a pilot in the works for Hey B*tches!, a show based on YouTube video blogger William Sledd and his "Ask a Gay Man" show. The potential show would focus on his move from Kentucky to New York City.

On Our Radar: Bravo TV's "Make Me a Supermodel"

If you're an aspiring model, you've surely heard the question, "Do you have what it takes?" Well, Bravo TV is wondering the same for their upcoming reality show, "Make Me a Supermodel."

National casting dates have yet to be announced, but here's what we do know. You must be at least 18 years of age, a legal U.S. resident and be able to travel to any foreign country. The deadline to apply is October 8, but the earlier, the better! To download an application and to find out more info, go here.

Hysteria Director Tanya Wexler Talks Vibrators, Faking It, and Duck Sex

Don't be shy . . . It's time to talk sex toys! And Hysteria director Tanya Wexler is writing us a prescription for pleasure. Tanya's film - what she calls "the vibrator movie you can bring your mom to" - is in limited release and stars Hugh Dancy, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Rupert Everett. When working on a romantic comedy that centers around the invention of the vibrator, you end up with some entertaining and embarrassing situations along the way, and lucky for us, Tanya spilled all the hilariously dirty details. From teaming up with the film's partner Jimmyjane for a drive-by vibrator drop-off to a certain female Oscar-winner to trying unsuccessfully to get ducks to shag on command, Tanya was bursting with great stories from working on this very unconventional film. And while Tanya isn't ashamed to discuss the sexy subject matter of her latest film with us, the mother of four and her partner of 21 years did have a tricky challenge telling her preteen kids what her movie was about. (She eventually gave them the script and let them figure it out themselves!) Check out our interview with the fun-loving director now, and we dare you not to have a girl crush on her by the end!

TrèsSugar: What were some of the challenges to getting a movie made about vibrators?
Tanya Wexler: Getting the script right was tricky because if you just make a movie about the invention of the vibrator, it's actually a really short movie: you go "bzz" and it's done. And we had a kind of light romantic comedy. I say I made the vibrator movie you can bring your mom to. But some people wanted it to be raunchy or some people wanted it to be more serious and about feminism. People project a lot onto this movie of what they want, because there isn't a lot out there about vibrators and women's pleasure, and we still don't really deal with that topic very well, or we're overly antsy around it. And as a result, people have a lot of ideas of what the movie could and should be, and you can't please everyone. [laughs]

TS: Ha, good one.
TW: It's nonstop!

TS: Do you find sex toys inherently funny or something to be seriously celebrated?
TW: Yes!

TS: Both?
TW: Yes! Yes. I think they make me laugh, and I think that the inner kind of Beavis and Butt-head in all of us goes "[laugh]." You know, that inner 13-year-old, like, "Hahaha vibrator . . . " and yet they're awesome and fun.

TS: What shocked you the most when researching the movie?
TW: That ducks are the rapists of the bird world, and you'll see when you see the movie, because there's a little bit of questionable duck behavior - or awesome duck behavior - in the movie. It's totally a sidebar, but you cannot make ducks shag on command. I'm just saying.

TS: What about the whole history of hysteria being a medical condition?
TW: When I first heard the idea, I was like, "What do you mean it was invented in Victorian times?" I knew about hysteria, but the idea that the treatment was manual [British accent] massage deparaxism - which is what they called it - and, of course, the denial. The most shocking thing is the denial, that they didn't think it was sexual.

TS: Do you think they were really in denial?
TW: No, I don't think that some people were. My college roommate was with her high school boyfriend for two years and she had never had an orgasm. I think there's all kinds of denial, especially with women's sexuality. So the fact that there are young women today who haven't had an orgasm, whether self-induced - which is insane - or with a partner, then why wouldn't we think back then that women wouldn't know what orgasms were?

They would get a massage, and the doctor's saying, "Without a penis, this isn't sex, because sex is about procreation," so what is this? The best physical therapy you've ever had. So once you don't think of it as something other than what the doctor's supposed to do to cure your uncontrollable crying or uncontrollable laughter or whatever, then it's just an awesome muscle spasm. If you don't think women have their own inherent sexuality, then you're not thinking about it like that.
