One thing's for sure - nothing is off limits or out of the realm of possibility when Marc Jacobs is at the helm. Set in a Rachel Feinstein-designed storybook-inspired castle-in-ruins Winter wonderland, he presented his Fall '12 lineup with more than just a little fashion fanfare. The first word that comes to mind? Hats! And lots of them, all by mastermind milliner Stephen Jones; each one more wonderfully whimsical than the one before. These wild toppers, in addition to the parade of rich, slightly oversized outerwear, giant safety pin closures, bejeweled square-toed shoes, luxe ostrich-skin handbags, and more, served as a serious testament to Marc's vivid imagination. All flights of fancy aside, though, there were ultra-wearable pieces peeking out from under the more fantastical garb. To this point, we spied cozy layered tweeds in muted tones, shimmery metallic pencil skirts in looser silhouettes, and slick cropped pants sent out in leather, brocade, and jacquard versions. Marc Jacobs's Les Misérables-meets-Dickensian disco-meets Alice in Wonderland Mad Hatter tea party collection certainly highlighted the fact that fashion, at its core, is whatever you make of it . . . and yes, wildly fun.

Trends: rich textiles like brocade and jacquard, floppy hats, oversized outerwear, fur-accented accessories.
Colors: Muted jewel tones - green, purple, ruby red, pink, slate gray, and black.
Key Piece: Slightly oversized coats in luxe fabrics and cropped pants in every texture, from leather to brocade.
Accessories: Fabulously fantastical hats in every color, square-toed shoes with crystallized buckles, long opera-length gloves with finger cutouts, and large boxy totes, some covered in fur, some made in decadent ostrich skin textures.

Rachel Zoe had a fashion summit on the beach in St. Barts yesterday. The stylist-turned-designer chilled on lounge chairs with her pal Marc Jacobs, who was appropriately decked out in gear and towels from the design house he oversees, Louis Vuitton. Marc's possibly on-again love interest Lorenzo Martone showed his loyalty in a pair of LV-designed swim trunks. Jimmy Choo founder Tamara Mellon was also there decked out in a red two-piece for the afternoon on the sand. Tamara actually left Choo in November and is reportedly seeking to launch another exclusive label. She and her daughter Minty are celebrating the big changes on vacation together. Tamara shared on Twitter that the girls have been stuffing themselves with crepes.

The holiday is also a family gathering for Rachel, whose husband Rodger Berman joined in on the sandy fun. Their young son Skyler came along too, and he was ready for the sun in an adorable white hat. Rachel's wrapping up her holiday vacation in the Caribbean. She's sharing well-wishes with fans, and tweeted yesterday, "Wishing everyone a healthy, happy and most glamorous 2012 from paradise."

Rachel Zoe and her good friend Marc Jacobs hit the beach in St. Barts together yesterday. She brought along her little one, Skyler Berman, for the afternoon on the sand. Marc and his ex Lorenzo Martone were photographed playing with Skyler, who was too cute in his warm-weather outfit. It was reported earlier this month that Marc Jacobs was dating adult actor Harry Louis, but it seems the designer is still close with Lorenzo. In fact, Marc told Vogue recently that he and Lorenzo are still "best friends." Rachel, meanwhile, is off in the Caribbean with Skyler and her husband, Rodger Berman. She, Rodger, and Skyler are enjoying fun in the sun after spending the holidays back at home in LA. 2012 is shaping up to be a busy year for Rachel and Rodger. Rachel Zoe will launch two new collections in the coming year, though she's keeping mum on the details for now.

Best of 2011: Which Runway Trend Was the Most Outrageous?

No year is complete without a few crazy fashion trends, and in 2011 there were a few that especially had us scratching our heads. Marc Jacobs sent moonboot-style wedges down his Fall runway, making for a far out, slightly space-age footwear trend. Burberry Prorsum and Christopher Kane showed '60s-inspired plastic and PVC pieces, great for keeping the rain at bay, but still a questionable everyday look. We also saw overstuffed, gorilla-esque fur sleeves at Peter Som and YSL and overtly sexy, undie-baring sheer skirts at Louis Vuitton, Givenchy, and more. Out of all the wacky wardrobe pieces we saw this year, which one was the craziest?

The coveted honor of designer of the year went to Alexander McQueen's Sarah Burton, who famously created Kate Middleton's wedding dress, while Stella McCartney was declared this year's red-carpet queen.

Marc Jacobs Perfume Ad Gets Banned Across the Pond

UK advertising censors weren't pleased with the way Dakota Fanning, 17, was shot for her new Oh, Lola! print campaign, and have duly banned the ad from appearing in magazines nationwide. "We considered the ad could be seen to sexualize a child," the Advertising Standards Authority said in its ruling, according to WWD. "We therefore concluded that the ad was irresponsible and was likely to cause serious offense."

The photo in question is above, and there is something a little Lolita-esque about it (Lolita in the pop cultural sense, not in the actual Vladimir Nabokov novel sense). However, and as unfortunate as it may be, "sexy" teenage girls are far from a new thing in advertising. But what do you think, though? Was it an overreaction to ban this ad, or should we be working to decrease the sexualization of young women however we can?

Dakota Fanning's Perfume Ad Banned For Sexualizing Children

Dakota Fanning's Oh, Lola! perfume ad has been banned in the UK for "sexualizing children." The Marc Jacobs perfume ad features 17-year-old Dakota holding an oversize bottle of the fragrance in her lap, and even though she's not dressed provocatively or doing anything sexual, the British Advertising Standards Authority believes the ad is portraying a minor as a sex object, saying:

"We noted that the model was holding up the perfume bottle which rested in her lap between her legs and we considered that its position was sexually provocative. We understood the model was 17 years old but we considered she looked under the age of 16. We considered that the length of her dress, her leg and position of the perfume bottle drew attention to her sexuality. Because of that, along with her appearance, we considered the ad could be seen to sexualise a child."

While I think there are a ton of much more overtly sexual ads out there, I do think the purpose of this perfume ad is to be provocative. Even Marc Jacobs describes Oh, Lola! as "sensual" and calls Dakota a "contemporary Lolita, seductive yet sweet." Maybe I'm just desensitized by worse examples like Toddlers & Tiaras, but would you really consider this ad featuring a 17-year-old the sexualization of a child?
