Not many celebrities busted out non floor-grazing frocks this year at the Emmys but the ones who did worked it well. This time, shorter hemlines ranged from sassy knee length to retro ankle skimming heights. All of these ladies look distinctive, but which look was your favorite?

Marcia Cross chose to wear a refreshing ankle length embroidered tulle gown by Elie Saab. Elegant silver heels, a light gold clutch, and crusty diamonds by Hearts On Fire glams up her classic ensemble. The nude color palette contrasts her fiery red hair to perfection.

Thank goodness there's no more reason to be depressed about the lack of red carpets. Nonetheless, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Andrea Bowen, Amanda Bynes, Jenna Fischer, and Marcia Cross all still brought the blues . .

I am loving this teal Monique Lhuillier gown on Marcia Cross. It goes perfectly with her red hair. I do think she needs a little more makeup, however, but I will leave that analysis to Bella.

There's a reason these lovely actresses traveled back in time for their Emmy fashion inspiration: because a gal can never go wrong with some Old Hollywood Glamour. Marcia Cross, Katherine Heigl, Kate Walsh, Heidi Klum, Jaime Pressly and Rebecca Romijn all went the glam route, but they each took very different roads to get there. Marcia, Katherine and Rebecca went simple and chic with neutral hues, while Heidi and Kate went va-va-voom in red.

Marcia Cross is renowned for her beautiful fair skin and red hair...but I am thinking that a more brightly colored gown would have been a better complement than this Georges Chakra gown. Her striking turquoise earrings, however, are a great choice accompaniment. What do you think?

I've heard from a few of my friends who are "Desperate Housewives" fans that Marcia Cross' character, Bree, dresses much better on screen than off. I tend to agree, but at the Chrysalis Butterfly Ball, Marcia looks youthful and modern in her yellow silk dress. Although a bit of self tanner would have served her well, she still looks pretty and effortless.

Skin cancer is very prevalent in our society today, so be sure to take advantage of the free skin cancer screening program next month, called Skin Cancer Takes Friends.
According to reports, Olay and the American Society for Dermatological Surgery have teamed up with Desperate Housewife, Marcia Cross, to spread awareness of the program, which is meant to encourage people to bring their friends to dermatologic surgeons for a free screening. Look out for Marcia, who will appear in a national print campaign in Shape Magazine and in in-store visuals.
