Marco Zanini, the head designer of women's wear, ready-to-wear, and haute couture at Versace, is joining American brand Halston as creative director, effective after the Spring 2008 Versace show in September. Bonnie Takhar, Halston's CEO, told WWD they were looking for someone who could "pay homage to the heritage of Halston and also bring it into the modern day, with the strength being in... eveningwear and dresses."

After much speculation on who would replace Marco Zanini at Halston, the brand has finally chosen its new successor: Marios Schwab. The London-based designer will take over in July and will unveil his first collection, for Fall 2010, in February.
