UPDATE: Halston reps have shot down rumors of Oliver Theyskens taking over as its next creative director. "Olivier will never, ever happen," said a source. "It's no secret that [the brand] is struggling - they need a designer who can sell lots and lots of clothes, not just get great press."

With just months after showing his last collection for Nina Ricci, Olivier Theyskens might already be headed to a new fashion house. Rumor has it Anne Wintour has coaxed Halston to take on her wunderkind as its new creative director position. However, other sources revealed Halston was considering Narciso Rodriguez or Marios Schwab to take over Marco Zanini's position. Nothing is confirmed, but we all know what Anna wants, Anna gets. We'll keep you posted.

Fab Flash: Marco Zanini Takes Rein of Rochas

After striking a deal with Italy’s Gibò Co. SpA, Rochas is back in business with its newly appointed creative director, Marco Zanini. With no time to waste, Zanini is set to show his first 2009 Fall collection for the label in March.

Zanini comes from designing for Versace and Halston. “We feel Zanini has the sensibility to produce a collection with a valid quality/price ratio that will have an artisanal flair,” said Franco Penè, president of Gibo Co. SpA. Are you ready for the new Rochas?

Fab Flash: Zanini the New Man for Halston

Marco Zanini, the head designer of women's wear, ready-to-wear, and haute couture at Versace, is joining American brand Halston as creative director, effective after the Spring 2008 Versace show in September. Bonnie Takhar, Halston's CEO, told WWD they were looking for someone who could "pay homage to the heritage of Halston and also bring it into the modern day, with the strength being in... eveningwear and dresses." As creative director, Zanini will oversee the entire product design for the house.

The original Halston passed away in 1990, and the label was relaunched in 1997, and has recently come under new ownership. Zanini's first collection could be unveiled as early as next February. Exciting!

Rochas Fall 2012

For Rochas's Fall 2012 collection, Marco Zanini culled inspiration from the midcentury ceramics of Swedish artist Wilhelm Kåge, highlighting a range of colorful suits and separates. While the focus was on ladylike dressing, Zanini injected a quirky touch into every look, pairing printed tights with boucle coats, patterned pencil skirts, and the geek chic glasses to match. Highlights included the well-tailored suits and skirts; the latter featured a range of full and form-fitting shapes. For gowns, Zanini created decadent voluminous gowns made out of thick washed silks - we can totally picture celeb style setters like Tilda Swinton wearing one of those creations on the red carpet.
