H&M's Holiday Ads Bring Together Old- and New-School Models!

We gave you a sneak peek of H&M's festive holiday ads, and now we bring you the full-blown campaign. It stars some veteran models like Mark Vanderloo, Danielle Z, Stella Tennant - remember them?! - alongside new ones like Mariacarla Boscono and Kasia Struss. Lou Doillon and Alice Dellal also make an appearance. The common denominator is that everyone is posing with someone close to their hearts: sisters, sons, mothers, best friends, lovers. Some even do video interviews. Step inside to feel the H&M warmth.

Fab Ad: Lanvin, Fall '10

Lanvin's been keeping busy this Summer. In addition to debuting its new boutique in St. Tropez, the brand is also working on a new interactive website. While we anxiously wait for the latter, let's feast on its fresh Fall '10 ad shot by Steven Meisel. In his own magical way, Alber Elbaz created hardcore elegance with Magdalena Frackowiak, Anja Rubik, and Mariacarla Boscono wearing a mix of shiny lamé, icy gray, and embellished black. The slick silver box backdrop is a good contrast against Alber's textured masterpieces, and we love the tough accessories. Dramatic makeup - via dark raccoon eyes and punchy pink lips - furthers the brand's hard-hitting vibe. We love it, do you?

Fab Ad: Givenchy, Fall '10

For Fall '10, Givenchy's Riccardo Tisci decided to stir the pot by featuring a transgender model in his ad campaign. Joining the top model ranks with Mariacarla Boscono, Joan Smalls, Ming Xi, Catherine McNeil, and Malgosia Bela - we love her pink hair - is Riccardo's personal assistant, Lea T. (previously known as Leo, here in the red lips). "She’s always been very feminine: superfragile, very aristocratic," said Tisci, who also noted Lea T. will be starting a new career in veterinary medicine in Milan. What are your thoughts on this feminine-masculine dichotomy?

Fab Ad: Givenchy, Spring '10

I always look forward to Riccardo Tisci's ads for Givenchy and this one doesn't disappoint. Yet again it's a seriously sexy lineup, this time with a new addition: 2009 model of the year Natalia Vodianova! Givenchy mainstay Mariacarla Boscono is back, as are a gaggle of hot men. Whereas Riccardo usually sticks to solids, there are lots more prints in the Spring line, making these ads more visually exciting. What do you think of it?

Fab Ad: Dolce and Gabbana Women's Fall '09

So we weren't impressed with Dolce and Gabbana's sporty Fall men's campaign. Moving on. Let's join the sultry Mariacarla Boscono, Heidi Mount, and Edita Vilkeviciute, in Vegas! Also shot by Steven Klein, the blue-hued ads depict the lionesses lounging across poker tables in the house's dramatic shoulderific Fall offerings. This image is my favorite, with the shaggy purple abominable coats. There's also Mariacarla in a white one - dig the surreal headgear. Vegas's bling and gaud rarely serve as backdrop for ads, what do you think of Dolce and Gabbana's high-fashion gamble?

Fab Ad: Givenchy Fall/Winter '09

Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci feels "It’s important to give reality to women," hence why he's decided to take a more realistic approach to his Fall/Winter '09 ad campaign. "I wanted to give this feeling of going from a studio to reality." To be precise, this reality is set inside a gilded bedroom in the Château de Ferrières. A not-so-obvious change: He's gone from using photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin for nine seasons to Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. Also unlike the past, the ad uses color photography and features new models - his favorite, Mariacarla Boscono is still in the mix but the most surprising addition is Victoria's Secret model Adriana Lima. What's your verdict, do you like Givenchy's upcoming ads or not?

Fab Ad: Hermes Fall '08

Who ever said models were dainty? Not me. They get to wear coveted clothes and attend fabulous parties, but what about posing mid-air on a ladder, or in this case, lugging around an ox in the frigid snowy mountains? Leave it to Hermes to create yet another masterpiece with its Fall ad campaign.

The trooper is Mariacarla Boscono, whom you may recognize from Pucci's psychedelic Fall campaign. This time around, the beautiful donna is looking wintry lovely in Hermes's mosaic-print skirt, fur-lined coat, and sumptuous suede boots. The ox, of course, is adorned with Hermes elements as well. The snowy alps is a perfect backdrop to these colorful offerings. First came the elephants, now oxen, I can't wait to see what's next!

Fab Ad: Emilio Pucci Fall 2008

Mariacarla Boscono plus Emilio Pucci's Fall campaign equals perfection. The Italian model was the right choice for the label's latest ads. Her raven hair provides nice contrast against Pucci's psychedelic prints. From extravagant maxi dresses to fur to head scarves, every shot in this campaign shines. And the backdrop - an extravagant house easily mistakable for a museum - is just as integral as Mariacarla and the clothes. A grand piano, Roman statues, marble floors . . . need I say more? It's a shame Pucci might loose Matthew Williamson's vision but what do you think?
