I'm all for avant-garde dressing — as long as it's flattering. This Marios Schwab Rodin Ruffle Dress ($2,565) will definitely make an artistic statement, but I'm not too sure about the crazy, red ruffles. In fact, it kinda reminds me of black-forest cake with red frosting.

After much speculation on who would replace Marco Zanini at Halston, the brand has finally chosen its new successor: Marios Schwab. The London-based designer will take over in July and will unveil his first collection, for Fall 2010, in February. "While Halston's DNA is crucial to its future success, I very much wish to move the brand forward and make it relevant for today," said Schwab.

I recently scored a beautiful long peach scarf and it made me re-fall in love with the sweet hue. It looks especially great when paired with gray. It looks like ChiKoLaTT shares my excitement.

Chloe's white draped and knotted Marios Schwab cotton dress may be very Venice beach circa 1982, but like many of her rare finds, Chloe rocks it with aplomb. She even has the beachy hair — and Jimmy Choo sandals — to go with. The standout detail on her cool dress is the knot that gives way to a high thigh slit.

New York Fashion Week ignites some trends, but it's in London where the envelope is pushed beyond the limit. Take, for example, Giles Deacon's Pac-Women. London Fashion Week is nearing completion, but there was enough quirk to last a lifetime, or at least until next season.

Fashionable things are brewing over at Topshop. Starting mid-Jan, capsule collections by London-based Jonathan Saunders (Thandie Newton favorite) and Louise Goldin are set to come out. Saunders' pieces include black and grey jersey T-shirts and dresses with geometric prints.
